ACDelco GM Genuine Parts 171-0930 Parking Brake Shoe Lining Kit

Recently did a complete brake overhaul on my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer which included pulling the rear axle to replace the corroded brake backing plate (used the Dorman equivalent here). Now, there is really no adjustment at the brake shoe and some adjustment at the parking brake lever inside the vehicle (see You Tube Video). Don't know why but had a lot of difficulty with the E-brake after replacing the backing plate and everything else the first time around except the E-brake shoe. Really was not a bunch of wear on the old unit but replaced same with this brand new part and everything is all good. The rotor is NOT to fit tight over the E-brake shoe as this could impede the axle from having free travel as it will be dragging on the E-brake shoe. The rotor should "glide" over the shoe with a slight drag when seated and should be easily removed when pulling on it. Test the E- brake with the rear wheels off the ground (support the vehicle properly!) and see if the wheels are tight and not moveable with the E-brake applied. This new shoe in conjunction with all other replaced parts should be the ticket.

The hold down clip is not easy to install. It looks to me like it will not hold the shoe securely for a long period of time.

Put these on my 04 Z71. They were the right parking brake shoe but the clip wasn't right so I left the existing one on there. These are fiddly to install. Simple but not great design. Was able to get it all back together.

Parking brake shoes arrives on time, fit perfect as they were the original equipment replacement item. See no reason for any problems with him in the future. Satisfied with the purchase.
