Great matcha!!
I'm Japanese, I take my tea pretty seriously. When people serve me a cup that's less than stellar, it doesn't make it past the first sip. Fortunately, I gave Gyokuro Green Tea Powder from Matcha Moon a chance. When a tea connoisseur is moved to comment, you know it's a fantastic product. Still more surprisingly, it's an American brand. Honestly, I never thought I'd enjoy matcha this much outside of Japan. In addition to its vibrant green color and exquisitely rich aroma, it boasts all the elements that make a great Gyokuro: full-bodied, mellow sweetness and signature umami flavor, with very little bitterness. The mellowness and depth of flavor seem to languish on the tongue, a refined and enveloping experience for the palate.

Umami, sour, no real vegetal or grassy
This matcha makes a beautiful jade green infusion. The flavor has a lot of umami/nori, almost no vegetal or grassy notes, and minimal bitterness (I brew at 170F, per the instructions). It's more sour than typical matcha. As straight matcha it's ok. It's better mixed in oatmilk, which adds some sweetness.

Great Flavor
I have friends who rave about the health benefits of matcha. So, I decided to give this product a try. I have brewed matcha blend tea bags before, but this was my first time trying the powder form. I was really blown away by how good this is. It is kinda like a cross between green tea and coffee. I'm not sure of the caffeine content, but it provides a little pick me up but doesn't make me jittery. It is good plain (I add a little stevia) or holds up great to a little milk being added to make a latte. The flavor is very rich and seems very high quality. The powder is very smooth and I don't taste any bitterness. Since I am new to matcha powder, I think there is a bit of a learning curve to making the perfect drink. I am experimenting with the right ratio of powder to liquid, best temperature and best way of mixing. I am getting a bit of clumping when I add powder to cooler liquid or when the drink cools down a lot, but I don't fault the powder for that. I think I need to learn to blend it better. I don't even mind a little clumpiness since the flavor is so smooth. Another thing to note if you are a newbie like me is that it is recommended to refrigerate after opening. Update: I realized that the directions say to sift the powder, and that makes a big difference in how easy it is to mix. I also got a milk frother, and that helps blend quickly and easily. No issues with clumps anymore, but I've read that clumps are a sign of high grade matcha. Update #2: I've now tried 3 different kinds of ceremonial grade matcha powder, and this one is still my favorite. I did a taste test between the three, and this one was just slightly lighter in color than 1 other. However, the package says it is shade grown, and it is a nice deep green. The darkest color one was a close second favorite and had a more earthy/grassy flavor which some might prefer. This was the smoothest flavor and required the least sweetener for me. For my test, I didn't sift the matcha and just stirred it, and this was the clumpiest. From my research, that actually seems to be a good thing, and with sifting and proper mixing will not be clumpy. Bottom Line: I definitely recommend this product. The flavor and quality is excellent.

Excellent flavor and aroma
I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of this organic ceremonial-grade matcha. It is a very fine powder with a vivid green color. I tried it as a tea and it was really good. It has a smooth, vegetal flavor with a mild sweetness to it. Not sharp grassy or bitter like the cheaper, lower-tier matcha. I really enjoy it as a matcha tea. It make excellent matcha lattes as well. Smooth, creamy and flavorful. This comes in a resealable, little foil-lined Kraft bag. It is produced and packaged in Japan. The matcha is made with Gyokuro green tea leaves from Kagoshima, Japan. Certified organic. Overall, this is a high-quality, ceremonial-grade matcha. The flavor is one of the better ones that I have tasted so far. The aroma is lovely as well. The price is pretty reasonable for the quality and taste you're getting. Recommended.

Delicious but very expensive Japanese matcha green tea powder.
Real Japanese matcha is always difficult to find. This is the authentic unadulterated Japanese powder, and unfortunately, it's priced to match, and then some. You get a modest 1.41 ounce of powder. I can easily find organic pure matcha powder at 1/20th the price. Although we love the flavor and authenticity of this Japanese matcha, we don't love it twenty times more than other matcha powder of comparable quality.

very nice matcha, smooth and luscious
I use both ceremonial and culinary grade. Price point is higher on ceremonial. Really nice for those that enjoy the nuances of a cup of prepared hot tea. I usually save money with culinary when using it in smoothie and lattes, but seriously.. ceremonial is always better tasting to me. This matcha is quite pleasant, smooth, some finishing tastes can be altered depending on water temp. It is gorgeous as a latte or added to my smoothies. Love the low key steady energy I get from matcha. Now I have to make a cup :)

It’s okay..
I’m a big fan of Matcha green tea and I have tried so many different green tea powder products but I should say this one was not my top choice but at the same time it’s a good option if you like cold brewed drinks. It comes in a bag that includes of 40 g of product, the quality is good and it’s very easy to prepare and you can use it for making different drinks, smoothies, lattes, cold brew, hot tea or even for baking. It’s made of all natural ingredients, it’s vegan and low in calories and gluten free which is nice and healthy.
