Wonderful Concept!
My girlfriend is studying Japanese and this is a very fun and creative tool for her to practice kanji. Integrating manga with studying kanji makes it a lot more enjoyable. If you are learning Japanese and you need help memorizing kanji, I suggest you look into this book.

Great way to learn Kanji and practice Hiragana!
This book provides a simple way of learning Kanji, and the Japanese conversations with English translations is a perfect way to see the Kanji in action, along with working on memorizing Hiragana, or just reviewing it and getting better at reading it. I definitely reccommend it.

Some Mistakes were possibly made?
I'm not sure as I'm using the material to learn Japanese, but some of the Kanji were not matching up with the meanings for Kanji I'd learned in other settings. I'm pretty fluent with being able to read with Hiragana and Katakana and some Kanji, but some of the Kanji meanings I'd never heard of. Now, as I said, I'm learning Japanese and I know meanings can change once you venture more into informal from formal, but an updated editorial review of the material may be in order. Other than that, I find the small book format easy to carry along and use when traveling. You can also read one book for a set amount of time and start to recognize the characters fairly easily as you practice writing your Kanji. This is why I'm concerned about there being incorrect readings, because it would be detrimental, specifically for reading and pronouncing a sentence, if it was to be read as Toomouimasu and not Shouomouimasu.

Very BASIC!!!... and fun :D
Yeah, you may not understand all what it says in the book, but if you read through the book, learn how to write and read Hiragana as well as Katakana, and then reread it, you would gradually understand it. Good book for beginners :P HTH - Hope This Help :D

Fun idea, could explain more
My daughter is learning Japanese on her own and so we picked this up. It's good for learning some basic kanji, but I wish it explained more of the vocabulary and grammar. However, it is possible that was addressed in the kana de manga book, which we don't have yet. We hadn't gotten that one because she already knows the hiragana and some katakana, but I think we'll pick that one up and see if it helps with this book, too.

Hard
This is not an easy book to follow. Actually its easy to follow - its hard to execute. You have to really want to learn Kanji and the chinese symbols. I have the whole series - it is accurate - I drew all the different symbols, but I am certainly not fluently able to read an write Japanese by any stretch - you have to want it!

It's beautifully built. Just as usable as the actual print book. I have purchased many ebooks but so many of them use reflow. But fixed format is a must for a language book and kanji de manga does it right!

Awesome!!! I just started studying Japanese and this helps out SO MUCH! Once I get farther into learning I will definitely be buying the rest of the books :)
