High quality product that is easy to use.
My new favorite. Easy to use menu. Stainless steel pot. Cooking times are perfect. I cook for a lot of family and the 8 quart can handle it. You can literally cook two different dishes, like beans and then the chicken for dinner one after another in about 1.5 hours and feed a lot of people. Well built, easy to use, easy to clean and the steam release works well. There is still some noise, but its a lot quieter than my old one.

Great Buy!
This is a great update to the Instant Pot I have been using for years. This is quiet and it’s beautiful and it works like a dream. I love the knob and I love the screen when it tells you that the food is done and when you can take the lid off. I am so glad that I made this purchase it was so worth it. I live in a busy household and we depend on the quick meals that you can work up in an Instant Pot especially if you freezer prepped them for the week.

Good Pressure Cooker, OK Slow Cooker If You're Patient
As a pressure cooker, this is great. As a slow cooker, it NEVER gets past "Preheating", so I never know if it is really "slow cooking" or not. I mainly use it as a pressure cooker and in that respect, it's great. The instant pressure release switch is a lot better than the models where you have to turn the knob and the steam shoots from that knob. This release switch is away from where the steam releases. I am happy with the pressure cooking performance but the slow cooker performance is a complete disappointment. Update: I was actually slow cooking some beef bone broth while writing this and I decided to increase the time to 8 hours; it just stayed in pre-heating, even after doing about 6 minutes of Saute mode, so I knew it was hot. Well after about 4 hours of being in Pre-heating, it finally moved to the Cooking phase and stayed that way for the rest of the cooking time, then went into the keep warm phase after 8 hours. So I'm making this a 5 star review; I guess you just have to let it run its course and eventually it will get to Cooking, unless you don't set your timer high enough to exceed the Pre-heat stage. Overall I'm HAPPY with this IP .

Defective Lid Design - Don't waste your $$$
I purchased this large instant pot because we like to make bone broth and others students and soups and so I bought the biggest one I could find. Thinking that instant pot would be easy to use was a huge mistake. I cannot get past the installing the lid to perform a test run. This is a poorly designed system. You need to fiddle with this large red O-ring and get it to into the lid somehow I've done this about 15 times now and I'm able to get it in there so that when you turn the lid upside down the rings stays, but I can't get the lid to seal on the pot. The lid is impossible to push down by myself to lock and then trying to turn with a rubber, O-ring is not working at all. I think this is a huge design flaw, and this is not easy to use. I should just be able to open and close and not have to fiddle with this O-ring. I can't even get beyond the Test. I called the product support line. The one 800 customer service number listed here and they want me to send email photos of the product when it's brand new out of the box and there's no one that could talk me through tips and tricks of getting the top on. The customer support person hung up on me after putting me on hold and never call me back. They probably have too many complaints on this product. I would give this zero stars andreturn it if I could, but I think it's past the window so I guess this is going to be a donation because who has time to fiddle with this thing I've already spent hours trying to just steam water on the test. It's impossible. I am very experienced at using scientific instruments as a chemist, working in a lab and I figured an Instant pot in your kitchen should be something that ANYONE can do and I don't see how people are using this if I can't get it to work unless there's something defective with my unit.

Tamed the Dragon—Now It’s a Kitchen Whisperer!
The Instant Pot Duo Plus 8-Quart isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a revolution. Gone are the days when my old Instant Pot roared like a dragon, spewing its steamy wrath onto cupboards and ceilings, leaving behind water stains that told tales of culinary battles fought (and lost). This new model, with its whisper-quiet silencer, has completely tamed the beast. It now operates with the calm efficiency of a Zen master—no more sudden hisses, no more kitchen eruptions. It cooks, it steams, it pressure-cooks, all while being so polite you could hold a conversation right next to it without shouting over the chaos. The 8-quart capacity makes it perfect for tackling big meals or cooking enough soup to feed a medieval feast, and it handles every function—from slow cooking to rice steaming—with ease and dignity. But if you're used to the older black Instant Pot, you might notice something different: this new gray model takes longer to cook some things, especially dry beans. It’s an adjustment, for sure, but one that’s worth making for the peace, quiet, and reliability this model brings to the table. Say goodbye to dragons and hello to perfectly cooked meals—just be ready for a slightly longer wait. It’s a game-changer, just at a slightly slower pace.

Quiet IP
I have several Instant Pots to choose from. I purchased the Gray, Whisper Quiet, 6 qt. 3 years ago and love it. The 8 qt. Whisper Quiet was on sale for under $100, so I bought it. I like the size for doing hams, roasts, etc... The reason for only 4 stars is the electrical cord. All my IPs have a removable cord, except the 8 qt. It has a fixed cord that is too short. I've used it a couple of times and it performs beautifully, so I kept it. I'm hoping that they make a 3 qt. Whisper Quiet IP.

This is now essential equipment in my kitchen
I'm late to the Instant game, but after consulting with friends, I took a chance on this. I'm very glad I did! Everything I've prepared in it so far--corned beef and vegetables, spaghetti, rice--has turned out fantastic. The whole family loves it, and it's way easier to use than I thought it would be. Considering how little electricity it uses, and how many pans I don't dirty when cooking, and that I can make such economical meals with it, it will doubtless pay for itself very soon!
