GS015 15-Amp Electric Corded Chipper/Shredder with Collection Bag

After reading negative reviews of similar products, I decided to give this a try. Although it says it will shred up to 1 3/4 in. sticks, I did not try such large pieces. The largest I needed to shred was about an inch, and this product handled all of those with no problem. I had it running for about 45 minutes and it kept going. I will do some more shredding tomorrow and see if it continues to do a good job.

This "chipper" consistently trips it's safety mechanisms for thin dry twigs that can be broken apart by hand. Using it is an exercise in patience repeatedly having it shut down, unplugging it, unscrewing the lid, not to actually dislodge anything usually but just so it will let you push the reset safety button again. *For no reason* It won't let you reset the safety without unscrewing the lid and then opening and closing it first... enormous waste of time.

This is one work horse. Fantastic machine. Great price and shipping was fast.

I don't normally review items, but I feel compelled. I had a hillside of brush, limbs, and bushes all cut down and piled up. In the past, the cleanup would take me about 2 full days. After purchasing this unit, the same work only took me 3 hours. Plus, instead of the ditch being full of material, I was able to dump it in an area around the use to fill in low spots. This unit isn't industrial but perfect for routine residential use. The motor held up nicely with bigger limbs. This unit saved me so much time and I loved using the chippings for something useful.

I wish I knew this existed two years ago! I’m a new homeowner with a wooded lot and cleaning up fallen sticks and branches led to having a small mountain of these I wasn’t keen on burning. It’s easy to use and move around the yard, the flimsy collection bag works well for now. I now have loads of wood chips to combine with shredded leaves for mulch and put down some on pathways for weed control. It does best with dry/brittle branches and sticks up to 1.5 inches. Doesn’t like viney or green branches like from recently cut lilacs or blackberry bushes. Read the manual for safety & use a proper rated extension cord.

Would not shred anything bigger than a pencil and had a hard time with that. It will shred dry, sunflower stocks. I even looked inside to make sure they put in cutting blades it is that bad. Junk
