these knives have a jaunty look, a nice block to hold them, and they cut steak easily.

These knives come in a nice little knife block. Sturdy appearing and attractive, they are lightweight with a nice feel in the hand. They are serrated on one side only and decently sharp. Remains to be seen how they hold up with use but an excellent value for the price. Strongly suggest anyone seeking real steel-forged knives from Laguiole, France do a little web research. The high quality knives of Laguiole are different from these and command a much higher price. They will be embossed with "Made in France" which these knives lack. Still, these appear to be a great buy.

This is an excellent product which I have rated 5 stars. Five years ago I bought a set of six knives which came with a wooden block. Having used them daily, they have remained extremely sharp with little change in appearance. The wooden handles are completely intact and have not discolored or warped. They have never been placed in the dishwasher and always have been washed by hand. The rounded shape of the handle is comfortable to hold for those with small or large hands. In five years the price has only increased by $2. The seller now offers a set of 8 knives without the wooden block which is available at Amazon. I have owned other steak knives which are large and clumsy and for that reason rarely got used. I am so happy with the FlyingColors product! You can't go wrong because they sell for less than $30. I hope my comments have helped anyone out there who is in need of great serrated steak knives.

When I was a young naif i fervently believed Expensive = Quality, Cheap = Junk. I've been hornswoggled enough times in my life to know that sadly, this is not true. These knives are delightful for the price and I really wanted them to be a five star item. My plan was to buy them, try them and instantly buy another set. OK, so as for looks, they put a smile on my face. They are nicely crafted and have sufficient weight to not feel cheap. I have large hands and the handle is long enough to be comfortable. However, if you have giant man-hands this skinny type of handle probably won't feel adequate. If you get any oil or grease on your hands while tackling some BBQ the handle will be difficult to grasp securely. The biggest flaw for me is that the blade is serrated on only one side, thereby reducing the cutting efficiency significantly. They do cut adequately but could be so much better. I have some 50 year old Tristar steak knives that I inherited; they were a freebie from some grocery store promotion way back in the early sixties. They are used constantly, get tossed in the dishwasher and they work as well as when they were new! Recently a guest asked me where I had purchased the steak knife since it worked so well. I can't vouch for the products Tristar is manufacuring today but I think I'm going to get a set, they are available on Amazon, and yes they are cheap.

I am so incredibly happy I found these steak knives from Laguiole. I had been searching for a reasonably priced set of pearl-handled Cutco knives but couldn’t justify the cost. So, when the holidays rolled in, I bought two sets of these white-handled Laguiole knives to use for holiday dinners I hosted,As you can see in my photos, the quality is excellent and while they’re not the same size as my Cutco knives, they’re a tiny fraction of the cost and are much, much sharper. I know they’ll last me a long time if I take care of them.These Laguiole knives are beautiful and well-made. I got a few compliments on them at Christmas dinner because they really are striking to look at.I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these. Bonus: you get a cute little wooden knife block for these if you’d like to display them on your counter.

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the wood and got the stainless steel. Turns out to be the better choice. Stainless doesn't trap bacteria as my old wood handled knives did, which required very careful washing. And stainless handles are hollow, so knives light and comfortable to use. Excellent serrated edge cuts very well. Nice wood block holder. Great buy.I what one reviewer said is true. Knives one side of blade. Doesn't seem to effect cutting though. Cut great. But don't know if real brand name, which are very expensive are serrated on both sides. Still very happy with them.

I have a set and have used them for years. Have stayed so nice looking and sharp as the day I bought them. Gave the as Christmas gofts to friends last year.

The knifes are very well built. Have a nice weight to them as well!Not scared to take on the biggest cuts of meat, these knives wont let you down!Love the knife block, came unfinished, so we could dye it to match are kitchen, dinning room decor.
