It Works!
We were looking for a trap to catch chipmunks (ground squirrels). We have a lot of them around our house, and even though they are cute, they are destructive! We have already had to replace the air conditioner duct work under the house. It's impossible to keep them out from under the house, and they chew holes in the duct work and build nests. We had a larger squirrel trap, but that did not work at all for the chipmunks, so we were looking for something smaller that would trip more easily when they got in it. As soon as the trap arrived, I set it up, and within 10 minutes we had caught the first chipmunk! Within several days, we had caught 8 of the little varmits! I put one pecan on the hook inside the trap, and a few sunflower seeds outside the trap to lure them. When they go in the trap and try to grap that pecan, SNAP! the trap has them. We couldn't be more pleased with this little trap!

Smarter Than A Rat
The rodents laughed at spring traps and sticky pads; however, I caught and drowned three on consecutive days with this trap.

It works!
Although this live trap is smaller than I expected, as I am catching rats not mice, it does work very well. Caught the first rat in an hour. Caught another their next day. I will be purchasing more.

faulty designed trigger mechanism
trigger mechanism is designed to fail. when animal enters the trigger does not activate, instead it is pushed into a stronger setting. trap in ok buttrigger is useless. therefore making the whole trap useless.

Poor bait setup
Well built but poor design. The bait gets hung from the trigger rod so small animals have to reach up and I guess they aren't interested enough to do that around here. The traps with a ramp for the bait that is hooked to the trigger rod work way better.

Piney squirrel escaped from trap
The trap worked great and caught the squirrel within 30 minutes of setting it. I was super impressed and started to get a bucket to take care of the squirrel. The squirrel was going nuts trying to get out and caused the trap to tip over and the squirrel had pulled the inside springs loose and the door opened.I would suggest that the springs be changed to a twist type spring on the hinge and not inside the cage. I'll use mine secured down so that it can not be tipped over.
