The Serpent of Time is a beautiful fantasy tale of daring and adventure written by Jim Shanahan. It's great when a book drags you in and you love the characters good and evil. Lots of strong aspects to its storytelling and complex tapestry of world and characters that really made it an engaging read. It demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for every nail-biting moment. This is one of those books. It’s a great magic system and a fantastically crafted setting – definitely worth a read!
