This is beyond medical grade. Takes pressure off the C8 nerve root (between C7-T1) that was injured and under pressure. Allowed disc to be reabsorbed by the spine. Well constructed. Effective. Feels blissful. Four degrees of traction to choose from (10°, 13°, 15°, or 18°). Uses a cable crank mechanism, which is better than a pump (pumps lose traction, the cable crank does not). NOTE: Use two hands on the way down to SLOWLY release, and you will not have a problem. Very easy to use. Has a great carrying case for travel. I was able to avoid subdural shots as this was the mainstay of my recovery program.

I purchased this neck traction device to help with neck stiffness and tension from long hours at a desk, and it has exceeded my expectations. The setup was simple, and the traction feels smooth and controlled. After several uses, I noticed less pressure in my neck and improved mobility. The carrying case is a nice bonus for travel. I have a bulging disc in my spine and this was similar to a device I use at PT. I thought with it being so expensive, it would be better than the one they use there that isn't as comfortable. I was wrong. This one is more comfortable, but the ratcheting system they use instead of hydrolic is incredibly inconsistent. Once I get past 15 "pound of pressure", nothing feels different. There is no way this item goes up to "50 pounds of pressure" indicated on its control dial. I've decided to give it time and try to work the the product, but I'm in too much pain to pay this much money and not have the device work as advertised. Edit: this device is now broken. Its dial that indicates the pressure no longer moves and I have to unwind the control device all the way just to get it to pull up. It's broken now and I have no idea why. It will be unfortunately returned. It's only benefit is it's comfort and carrying case.

I’m writing this review while laying on the floor using this traction device. I’m experiencing shooting nerve pain down my arm from a herniated disc. I’ve tried many things ranging from chiropractic treatment, meds, heat pads, over the door cervical traction devices, decompression neck massager, among others. This cervical neck traction device is the only thing that brings me relief. When the pain is bad, I’ll use this device and within a minute the nerve pain melts away. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it.
