Great pens!!! And great price!!!
These pens were a GREAT bargain!!! They both wrote perfectly right out of the package. Converters worked fine, nibs were tuned (at least for me, I liked the feedback). Normally I’ll tune the nibs of pens so I get the right flow, feedback, etc. these were great right out of the box. I actually purchased another set of two after the first set came in because i liked them so much. I’ve already done the stub nib “Lamy” conversion on one of them. Great value, great quality!! Buy them, you’ll be glad you did!!!

Quality control is a problem
I got another set of 2 pieces. They are the 03 nib. I did not see the 03 nib is not finer or thinner than the EF nib. I won’t recommend the 03 nib as it is getting “scratchy” and unpleasant writing experience. As a reference, I have the platinum 3776 <EF> pen that I enjoy using. ==== I got the 2 pieces set. EF nib. Pros: - Fantastically smooth! - Light weight. Easy to control. - The pen feels good. Anti-slippery. This means that I can write a long time without feeling tired. Writing gets addictive. Cons: - Quality control is a huge problem. I purchased the 2 PCS set. One of them gets the nib miss aligned. The nib turns out to be extremely hard to adjust. I tried to fix it by myself but failed. The other works just fantastic! It is a lottery. If you receive a malfunctioned one, simply return it and do not try to fix it, which will make the same mistake I did. - The finish is ok. I agree that the plastic finish is far away from lamy safari for example, but still ok to me. Plus, partly because it is black, it does not look cheap.

Smooth writer, professional look!
A great Lamy 2000-inspired design! It is a bit smaller than I expected, but the sleek, subtle shape is perfect for the workplace. The ink flows without a single skip, making for a very smooth writing experience. My only caveat is that the line width is thicker than what I'd consider a true 'fine,' so it may not be ideal if you need extreme precision. Still, this twin pack is a fantastic value.

Writes Beautifully!
I like to carry a cheap fountain pen with me all the time. I have more expensive ones but I usually don’t carry for fear of damage. These pens are so nice! The nib is precise and ink flows perfectly! They come with a converter that was easy to fill. The cap secures well and posts. Great size, hand feel and weight. Well worth the money! I bought 2 more!

Not great but okay if you get a good one
Is it really "brushed carbon fiber"? Doubtful but I don't know for sure. When it comes to Chinese-made pens, I assume that everything is a lie... then the 1 out of 10 times I'm wrong, I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty sure this is plastic, just like Jinhao pens advertised as celluloid are actually plastic. Considering I can see the seam from the injection molding line on the pen, I'm reasonably certain that these are not "carbon fiber". As for how it functions? It writes. It's dry and scratchy and might be the stiffest nib I've ever used (and I've used probably 75 nibs in just the past year alone). There is no breather hole so if you try to floss the tines to open it up, you're going to create a noticeable bend and probably end up doing far more harm than good (so don't bother). I checked the alignment under magnification and it's definitely aligned, but it's still quite scratchy... I personally like feedback, but not this kind of feedback, so I swapped the nibs (but more on that below). The converters included with these pens are cheap and not up to the level as most other higher-quality Jinhao converters. Do NOT allow these pens to be inverted for any period of time when inked... they will fill the cap with ink over a short period of time. Most fountain pens can be kept inverted without this issue -- not true with these. I tried it with three different pens and the same result was seen. I know many people don't like to keep pens in this position so it shouldn't be an issue for most. If stored horizontally or nib-up, you will be fine. I swapped the nibs on all of them for gen Lamy nibs and the fit was perfect, as was the function. I even tried a gen 14 karat Lamy nib, and it transformed the writing experience. Is it stupid to put a $175 nib (MSRP) on a $9 pen? Probably... but I had an oblique nib that hasn't worked well with a Safari / AL Star since those sections force me not to rotate the pen. The nib is 95% of what makes or breaks a pen so it's hard to argue with the end result regardless. The other one got a steel Lamy calligraphy nib and writes equally well.

Ink dries up after 48 hours
Bought black with silver in F. The clip is metal, I'm not sure what the other reviewers received. I have not tried clipping it to anything. I haven't held a Lamy 2000 so I don't know what it should feel like. The cap and body feel like very light plastic. It has a medium girth, a little bigger than a Safari. The one star is because it dries quickly. I inked it and a Jianhao 619 Safari knockoff at the same time with the same Platinum Carbon black ink a month ago and the 619 still starts immediately even if I ignore it for two weeks. The 80 dries up in 48 hours. I've been storing it upside down and there are no leaks, but no ink when I need it. It's not usable for me so I'm going to trash it rather than get frustrated every time I go to use it.

Super smooth writer - awesome fountain pen
My pen writes so smooth - I was truly amazed ... I purchased the 2 set and sent the all black one to a pen friend ... I kept the black pen with silver clip. This is a lot of fountain pen for the money. I have over 100 fountain pens and some that cost a lot more than this one don't write this well. Not only that but I have seen other more experienced fountain pen people take the nib off and replace with other Lamy style nibs in broader sizes which I have not yet been able to take my nib off but I carefully keep trying because I do prefer a Broad nib. But if it won't come off this is one of the very smoothest fine nibs I've written with ... just as good as the Lamy F nibs in my Safari's. I don't think you can go wrong with this fountain pen. The converter is much easier to take care of than a piston filler and this is an elegant writer which is more comfortable to grip than the Lamy 2000.

Fantastic value for the price
Firstly, for those who may not have noticed, this is a set of TWO pens, one in black with silver trim and the other in black with black trim. Both have a chrome, extra fine nib. These imitations of the Lamy 2000 feel cheap compared to the real ones, but they're still great little pens and the value for the price is crazy. For a bit more than the price of a Lamy Safari converter, you get a full pen WITH a converter! The material is a cheap, but solid plastic. I wouldn't be worried if I dropped a pen. It's nowhere near as solid, refined, or dense as the Makrolon of a Lamy 2000, but it looks and feels nice enough. And the pen is a lot lighter. Whether lighter is better or worse is a matter of personal preference. I happen to like the heft of the Lamy 2000. But this pen is so light that you don't even feel a difference when you post it, and it posts very nicely. The trim is all plastic. The silvery clip is just colored plastic, so it isn't as robust as the metal clip or the real Lamy 2k. Now here's where Jinhao went the extra mile and made this a must-buy. The nib that comes with it is decent. It's extremely fine, though, which not everyone likes. BUT... it takes Lamy Safari nibs! This opens up the entire world of Lamy Safari nib sizes, from extra fine to extra broad, stubs, and the recent "cursive" nib with a slight architect grind (basically a reverse stub). You can also get different qualities of nib, from the basic nib of the Lamy ABC, to the standard Lamy Safari nibs in chrome or black, to the improved black Lx nibs, to the oddly curved Aion nibs, and even 14k gold nibs in gold or black. The black nibs are particularly nice on the all-black Jinhao. Now, a Safari nib costs almost twice as much as one of these pens, but it's nice to have the option of making basically a Lamy 2000 shaped Safari. Let's face it, a Safari isn't the prettiest thing to look at. So, this will not even come close to replacing a Lamy 2000. There are substantial differences, especially in quality and refinement. But for $12 a pen, this makes a great pen for going to places that are too risky for an expensive pen, or as a gift for a student or to introduce someone to fountain pens.

Great pen at great price point
Love the look! It is classic and works really well for the price. I have been using it a few months no issues yet, even bought my mom one in the dark green colour. Personally I think it writes a little thick for a fine nib but it could also be the ink I am using (diamine writers blood). For this price can’t go wrong! It is plastic and quite light so if you like a heavier pen maybe skip this. Also have to say it is built to last it has metal on metal treading, not metal on plastic, so really…can’t recommend enough.

Lamy 2000
