BX300 480GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT480BX300SSD1

Brought my 2011 mac back from the dead. Boot up went from 10 minutes to 30 seconds. Shutdown takes about 10 seconds or less. Fairly easy to install. A bit intimidating at first but it was really not that hard. Hardest part was creating the Bootable USB installer. Only glitch was the need to reset the clock because I went with a fresh install without formatting the drive first. I did not want any remnants of the prior drive. Definitely have a 2nd computer handy to research any problems and to keep the instructions handy. I used the instructions from the crucial site for the hard drive install and the instructions from Mac Rumors to create the bootable USB installer. Took about 40 minutes and then an hour or so to install the OS and another several hours to add the apps and settings and email etc.. Well worth the effort.

I'm enjoying the results of this SSD in my older desktop. It used to take a minute and 45 seconds or so to boot into the desktop (Win10) and load a browser. Now I'm seeing more like 35-40 seconds to reach the same point. Programs load and run lots faster, too. I used Macrium Reflect, which I already had, to clone my HD to this SSD. It performed flawlessly. I did have to add a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter to fit the drive bay in my desktop.

Bought two of these drives in 2018 to speed up rendering of You Tube videos. one was a work drive, the other a backup. There were less than five short videos on these drives. I stopped doing videos a year and a half ago and the drives both became archive units with no writes and very seldom reads. One day when on my computer , I noticed that both drives no longer showed up. I replaced sata cables , power cables still did not work. I removed the drives from the computer and installed in a external usb drive holder. Both drives still did not work. I have since learned that Crucial uses second quality nand chips in their BX300s. Went with a big name, had better luck with cheap no name drives. No more purchases of anything Crucial for me. $200 dollars down the drain.

The drive is good but the Actonis True Image HD 2015 that Crucial provides does not work. This is frustrating expecially since I just used the version of Acronis that WD provides this week (to install a WD Black SSD in another computer) and it was both flawless and didn't require registration or a key to be entered. Why is Crucial using a bad version of Acronis and making us jump through hoops just to install it? They've got to fix that. I ended up using MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 10.2.2 instead. it was easy and worked on the first try. Acronis would simply say it needed to restart the computer, but then after restart it wouldn't actually do anything. MiniTool does the restart and then does it's job. Many reviewers in the past month are complaining about Acronis. Crucial, are you going to do something about it?

FAST and efficient for my Mac mini server. It has become my internal boot drive. Impressive speed improvement from a spinning drive. I use external RAIDs for all data and dual external backup drives with all but real time backup with Carbon Copy Cloner. From time to time I force boot from each one and they work perfectly albeit slow compared to the Crucial. I use Crucial memory and drives for all my needs and my clients' IT needs.

Built an Intel i7 PC in 2017 and used this for my OS drive and another HDD for storage. This drive would sometimes freeze for 30 seconds, a minimum 3x a day, it was weird. Bought a Samsung 870 and the issue went away. It has something to do with the BX300. I reformatted the BX300 SSD and just used it as storage for games. It works great as a storage drive, no issues. If you want to use this for your Windows OS, I do not recommend.

I am using this SSD as external and so far is ok. However I use as a storage and I do not transfer a lot of data so is doing the job. Speed is as promised up to 450 mb/s. I like it and highly recommend.

Breathed new life into an aging laptop. Older HP 15 could not support more ram, and was painfully slow. It now boots in 5 seconds and page load times are vastly improved. Went from barely usable to makes me happy.

Ce modèle à de quoi satisfaire avec son prix abordable et des débits en lecture/écriture qui sont tout à fait corrects, vous pouvez même installer le logiciel d'optimisation c'est encore plus rapide sous Windows 10. Le contenu de la boîte n'a rien d’exceptionnel mais on trouve tout de même à l'intérieur de celle-ci un petit cadre d'adaptation d'épaisseur ainsi qu'une notice comportant un numéro de licence pour le logiciel Acronis à télécharger. J'ai utilisé Acronis pour copier mes anciens SSD de 128 Go et 256 Go ainsi que le logiciel Macrium en version gratuite (vraiment bien) par précaution afin d'avoir 2 fichiers images distincts de sauvegarde de mes disques avant de tout effacer.

J'ai installé ce disque sur un vieux PC portable i5 sous W10 qui a 10 ans maintenant. J'ai gagné en fluidité de fonctionnement et de rapidité au démarrage. J'ai utilisé le logiciel fourni pour la copie de l'ancien disque dur sur le nouveau. Le seul problème rencontré est que j'ai utilisé un cable USB/SATA générique et le logiciel ne reconnaissait pas la marque du disque (Crucial) et ne voulait pas faire le backup. En cherchant chez le constructeur j'ai trouvé une solution pour contourner le problème. Sinon acheter le cable de la marque Crucial ca devrait fonctionner sans problème. Puis après rien a dire, le backup, install et démarrage sans soucis il faut faire le calcul, nouveau PC entre 600 et 1 000 euros et reinstaller ses applis/données voire de nouvelles licenses mais ca sens le neuf ou investir dans un disque SSD pour une 100 aine d euros (ya moins cher) et une a 2 heures d installation. J'ai fait le choix de changer le disque SSD plus par gout de bidouiller car c'est clair que mon PC n'a pas de USB3 ou de nouveau port USB-C, les bus ne sont pas aussi rapide, le ventilateur fait du bruit, il chauffe et le processeur/carte graphique ont des perfs a la traine par rapport aux nouveaux PC .... mais ca fonctionnait et ca fonctionne mieux et suffisant pour mon besoin

I bought this to upgrade an older Core2 2.4GHz PC that was already using a 64GB SSD plus 500GB HDD and Windows 10. I wanted the extra capacity as my 64GB C: boot drive was very nearly full, despite my best attempts to move as many programs and data to the HDD as possible. The installation process was surprisingly quick and easy using the special (locked) Crucial version of Acronis clone software, which is available as a free download from the Crucial web site. If you read the instructions published by Crucial you might be lead to believe that you need a USB to SATA interface cable to connect the new drive to your PC ready to clone the existing boot drive to. This is undoubtable true for laptops and probably many desktops too, but I found that I could temporarily disconnect my internal SATA DVD drive and use the cables to connect the new SSD instead and the Acronis software found it automatically when using its Clone Tool. I suspect that this gives faster transfers than via USB, especially if you only have USB 2.0 ports as I have and not USB 3.0. With the data transfer done (it took only a few minutes) I swapped out the old SSD for the new Crucial drive (I didn't need the supplied spacer for my HDD bay), reconnected my DVD drive and powered up to find Windows 10 running just as I had hoped for. But I am surprised to find that not only do I have the extra capacity but the whole PC seems to be running a lot faster and smoother. I expect the BX300 read and write speeds are somewhat faster than my old Samsung drive but the speed improvement seems to be greater than that might account for. Perhaps the old drive was nearing its end of life and had slowed as a consequence? Or maybe the Windows Page file just worked better with more storage space? Either way, I am very pleased with the end result and if you too are looking to upgrade an older PC I can recommend this Crucial SSD.

Ce que je n'ai pas aimé c'est que le logiciel crucial qui permet de d'augmenter les performances x10 ne fonctionne pas car le disque n'est pas détecté,aussi il est impossible d'envoyer une demande d'assistance avec leur logiciel car les message ne sont pas envoyés et si je contact crucial il n'y a aucune réponse en retour.

Nachdem meine bisherige 120 GB System-SSD mich immer häufiger in Platznot brachte, wurde es Zeit für mehr Platz. Da Crucial dieses Produkt gerade ganz frisch auf den Markt brachte, dachte ich mir: Warum nicht? Schließlich scheint es bei den Samsung EVO häufiger Probleme zu geben. Also die 480 GB per Morning Express bestellt. Lieferung: Erstmals wurde mir von Amazon eine Lieferung über UPS angekündigt. Und es ging rasend schnell: Nachmittags geordert stand der UPS-Wagen bereits kurz vor 8 Uhr vor der Haustüre. Ich also flugs die 2 Stockwerke runter, um den Fahrer an der Türe freundlich zu begrüßen. Das ging aber leider nicht, er hatte den Umschlag bereits in den Briefkastenschlitz gesteckt (die Hälfte schaute heraus, so dass jeder die Ware hätte „abgreifen“ können) und startete bereits wieder sein Fahrzeug. Wer da wohl den Empfang quittiert hat (doch nicht der Fahrer ….)? Oder hat UPS das abgeschafft? In meinen Augen ist so etwas ein No-Go, zumal ein kleiner Stupser gereicht hätte und der Umschlag wäre von außen nicht mehr erreichbar gewesen, sondern hätte im Hausflur gelegen. Fürs Tempo vergebe ich 5 Sterne, für die Ausführung 0. Verpackung: Der Versandumschlag bestand aus Pappe ohne Polsterung, das finde ich für eine SSD ok, da muss nichts gepolstert sein und Luftpolster sind Plastikmüll. Versandverpackung also 5 Sterne. Lieferumfang/Zubehör: Im Umschlag befand sich dann der Produktkarton, eine kleine Schachtel, ca. so groß wie 2 CD-Hüllen. Die SSD war in einem Plastiktray gelagert, zusätzlich befanden sich zwei Zettel und das in der Produktbeschreibung beschriebene Rähmchen. Keine Schrauben, kein Einbaurahmen. Das Fehlen eines Einbaurahmens und von Befestigungsschrauben finde ich schwach. Beides war damals bei meiner 120 GB Corsair dabei und ich hatte es in meinem jugendlichen Leichtsinn einfach vorausgesetzt, obwohl es nicht in der Produktbeschreibung stand. Immerhin soll es tatsächlich Leute geben, die eine SSD nicht im Notebook, sondern im Desktop einsetzen. Ich hätte auch kein Problem damit, das gegen Aufpreis als Option zu bestellen. Ist zumindest einfacher, als nach dem Erhalt sich erstmal das passende Teil raussuchen und zusätzlich bestellen sowie darauf Warten zu müssen. Aber da Samsung selbst in seinem Startkit keinen Einbaurahmen vorsieht, scheinen die Hersteller solch einen Service nicht nötig zu haben. Zum Glück passt die SSD zumindest auch ohne Rahmen in eine Halterung meines Towers, nun muss ich nur noch zusehen, wo ich passende Schräubchen finde, um sie nicht lose darin herumliegen zu haben. Die zum Produkt gehörige Software ist – wie heute üblich – nicht dabei, die beiden beigelegten Zettel sind daher Downloadanweisungen. Das kleine Rähmchen, das beiliegt, ist mit zwei kurzen Klebestreifen ausgestattet, das dient wohl dazu, die SSD in bestimmten Notebooks rappelfrei einbauen zu können. Da ich das nicht brauch, kann ich dazu mehr nicht sagen. Die SSD selbst ist erheblich flacher als meine alte (daher ja wohl auch das Rähmchen) und auch erheblich leichter. Aber das sagt ja nichts über die Funktionalität aus. Dem Zubehör würde ich normalerweise nur 3 Sterne geben, aber da der „Branchenstandard“ ja scheinbar gewahrt ist, vergebe ich zähneknirschend 5, man soll ja fair bleiben. Installation/Einrichtung Die neue SSD sollte meine alte System-SSD ersetzen, also wollte ich das vorhandene Laufwerk auf die neue SSD klonen. Zunächst habe ich ein Backup gemacht und einen Systemdatenträger aufm einem USB-Stick sowie zur Sicherheit auf einer DVD erstellt. Doppelt hält besser. Der eine der beiden beigefügten Zettel verweist auf eine Webseite von Crucial mit einer Anleitung. Irgendwie witzig wenn auch logisch der Hinweis, dass man die Anleitung von einem anderen Rechner oder Mobilgerät starten soll. Hinweis zu den nachfolgenden Schilderungen: Ich nutze WIN 10, 64-bit, Home-Edition, das Quelllaufwerk (alte SSD) war kleiner als das Ziellaufwerk (neue SSD). Ich habe mich zunächst genau an in der Hilfe beschriebene Procedere gehalten: Acronis True Image runtergeladen, installiert und freigeschaltet. Die neue SSD an mein USB-Interface gehängt und das Programm gestartet. Acronis bietet drei Optionen an, die erste lautet „automatisch“ und die klicke ich gemäß Anleitung auch an. Nach ca. 15 Minuten meldet Acronis Vollzug. Zunächst habe ich mir mal das Ergebnis im Dateimanager angeschaut: Acronis hat eine 111 GB Partition angelegt (so groß war die auf der alten SSD) und den Rest in eine zweite „Wiederherstellungspartition“ gepackt. Na super, denke ich, genau so viel Platz wie zuvor. Aber das kann man ja später lösen, also zunächst mal die neue SSD an den Platz der alten gehängt und den Rechner neu starten. Was nun folgte, kürze ich einfach mal ab: Der Rechner hat von der neuen SSD nicht gebootet. Ich habe dann die alte SSD noch 2x neu geklont, dabei die beiden anderen Optionen ausprobiert, das Ergebnis war immer dasselbe: 2 Partitionen, kein Booten. Viele ergoogelte Forenseiten später wusste ich, dass das mit der bootfähigen SSD, WIN 10 und der 2015er Version von Acronis (die bekommt man nämlich von Crucial) schon zahlreichen Usern genauso ergangen ist. Nach zig Versuchen mit diversen Hilfetipps ist es mir dann nach insgesamt einem kompletten Arbeitstag gelungen, mein System so zu haben, wie ich es mir gewünscht habe: Die neue SSD bootet anstandslos als Systemplatte und der komplett verfügbare Speicherplatz von 447 GB (der Rest wird von der SSD reserviert, das ist aber üblich) liegt nun in einer Partition vor. Gelöst habe ich das mit der runtergeladenen „Notfall-DVD“ von Computer-Bild (hätte nie gedacht, dass ich mal auf was von denen zurückgreifen muss) für den Klonprozess und mit EaseUS habe ich die Partitionen zusammengeführt. Beide Downloads sind kostenlos (googeln!). Nachdem das endlich geschafft war, habe ich noch das Programm Crucial Storage Ececutive heruntergeladen und dort das Caching aktiviert. Ein Vorher-/Nachher-Vergleich mit Diskmark64 ergab eine signifikante Steigerung, dieses Optimierungsprogramm lohnt sich also wirklich. Ob es auch mit Fremd-SSDs funktioniert, kann ich aktuell noch nicht testen, da ich meine Alt-SSD mit Sicherheit einen längeren Zeitraum nicht anrühren werde, bis ich mir sicher bin, dass meine neue von Crucial mich nicht im Stich lässt. Die beiden Abbildungen zeigen die Werte in Diskmark64 vor und nach Aktivieren des Caches. Meine Wertung für die Software: 0/5 Acronis True Image 2015, 5/5 Crucial Storage Executive Meine Wertung für die Hardware: 5/5 Fazit: Sofern man es mal geschafft hat, dass die SSD das tut, wozu sie gedacht ist, liefert sie eine sehr ordentliche Leistung ab. Meine Vorgänger-SSD hängt siespielend ab, sie ist bereits ohne Optimierung ca. 2,5x so schnell. Acronis True Image 2015 kann man zumindest bei meiner Konfiguration mit WIN 10 und der Vorgabe, dass das Quelllaufwerk kleiner ist, als das Ziellaufwerk so ziemlich vergessen. Wenn ich die ganzen Kommentare in den diversen Foren richtig verstanden hatte, legt die Acronis-Software zwar diese „Wiederherstellungs-Partition“ an, aber keine EFI-Partition, die wohl zwingend (auch bei nicht UEFI-Rechnern) notwendig ist. Und das heutzutage durchaus die neue SSD größer ist, als der bisherige Systemlaufwerk, sollte auch bei Notebooks mit HDD vorkommen, schließlich kosten heute ca. 500 GB SSD in etwa so viel wie vor einigen Jahren noch 64 oder 120 GB SSD. Und ich kenne viele, deren Notebooks auch max. 500 GB HDD, meist mit 2 Partitionen haben. Das Blöde ist nämlich, dass man auch mit den Bordmitteln von WIN 10 die von Acronis angelegten Partitionen (sofern die SSD überhaupt nach dem Acronis-Klonen bootet) nicht zusammenführen kann, da die zweite Partition dafür gesperrt ist. Ob eine aktuellere Acronis-Version da besser wäre, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Ich habe im Laufe dieses Klon-Tages testweise auch eine 250 GB HDD (also ebenfalls größter als das Quelllaufwerk) mit der Acronis-Software geklont, dieses Laufwerk hat ebenfalls nicht als Boot-Laufwerk funktioniert, es liegt also eindeutig nicht an der SSD (wie auch?). In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass die Klon-Software ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Produktes ist, vergebe ich daher nur 4/5 Sternen (3,5 Sterne würden es eher treffen).
