Bought Two at One Time. Neither Works. The enclosed unmarked "driver CDs" are unlabeled blank CDs; no data on them. (Win 7 PCs)
I am highly suspicious of this product and the vendor at this point. I recently purchased two of these devices (at one time) based upon the good reviews. I own several Windows 7 PCs, each running Win 7 Professional, and each is a very late-model machine. The automatic Windows installation failed on each machine, and then, when I put the CDs (there were two small CDs in each package, and each CD was entirely unlabeled, Windows reported that it could not read the CDs, that they were blank and unformatted CDs -- this occurred across more than one PC.I then decided to try to install the drivers myself, so I searched the Q/A section of this page, and found a link provided by the vendor in an answer to a customer asking for the same thing; the vendor claimed that the link would allow customers to download a .zip file containing the drivers. Well, the link turned out to be dead; that particular website is long gone from the web, and so it was a dead URL!So, now I am stuck with two totally useless and entirely non-functional "USB video adapters". It is simply not worth the effort, time and hassle to return them to Amazon for a refund. I will instead try to use them as doorstops, or to grind them up and feed them to my chickens.

Didn't work for me. (But see update)
(See added update)Unfortunately, didn't work for me. Plugged into a PCI-e based 2-port USB 3.0 card slot. Used like that, it only displays a narrow band (2 inch) on the top of my screen, and it flickers tremendously. When plugged into a USB 2 slot, it displays the whole screen image, but (of course) in a somewhat smaller rectangle of the screen (but not as small as the expected 800x600), but still flickers unbearably and quite dimly.Plugged the VGA cable back into its original VGA port and everything is fine, steady and bright again at full 1920 by 1080.It's useless in my straightforward configuration.[UPDATE ...]I took the card to the office, hooked it to another VGA monitor, installed the driver, plugged it into an existing USB 3.0 port, and it indeed worked flawlessly ... So, it's not this adapter. I have updated my rating accordingly. I now suspect that USB3.0 PCIe card I used to add2 USB 3.0 ports to my home PC. Especially since it also failed to 'see' a USB 3.0 disk drive I plugged into it (although it did spin up).

Driver may cause problems with other programs
Installed this on a Windows 10 machine USB3 port. Worked fine. However , something in the software prevents a program by KramerAV used to setup display systems from working. causes a dll to get an exception. So once, uninstalled the software (Fresno logic), then the other program worked, but unable to use this adapter on the same system. So some other posts on the web that other people had problems with it causing problems with other programs. Note, I had the latest driver from Fresno.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY! Screen tearing and resolutions.
This adapter has some issues.1. 1366x768 is not supported for no apparent reason.2. Image is kinda shaky and weird.3. Screen tearing is a bummer! (See photos. USB - this adapter, VGA - vga cable connected directly).PS. I have installed both the latest driver from fresco logic's website as well as the driver from the cd. I have tried 2 different monitors (one 1080p and another 1366x768) with different VGA cables. I have also tried with 2 different laptops.Returning!

Only works with 2 specific USB host controllers...
Opened the package and there were no instructions. There were 2 unlabeled mini discs with drivers. I plugged it into my HP laptop, loaded the drivers, and would only see a small bar at the top of the screen. **** Be aware that this only works fully on certain USB controllers.**** On my HP it would not go above 1024*768 as it stated my host controller was not compatible. I bought this to go 1920*1080. After looking through their website, I found they only fully work with 2 specific USB host controllers: Intel USB 3.0 xHCI host, FL1100 xHCI host. Had to return...

Works great with my Dell Latitude 7275 2 in 1 laptop/tablet
Works great with my Dell Latitude 7275 2 in 1 laptop/tablet. I was concerned that I would have compatibility issues with this product due to the price and also the fact that I plan to plug this into a USB-C to USB hub. But no issues at all connecting to my monitor and setting up a dual screen.

Not for windows 10
Requires third party software, no auto detect and driver install under windows 10. Seems to have latency

Not Necessarily the best option.
This works, however on my computer (Dell running Windows 7.0) the second screen has poor resolution. I did not receive any discs with the necessary drivers, but downloaded them from the Amazon Q&A where the link was posted. Additionally I had to purchase the program to "unzip" the software, so the end cost was considerably more.
