Does this kit work for all Toyota/Lexus V8 engines, including early non-VVT-i models?

VS50592R is designed for the 1998–2005 era when Toyota introduced VVT-i technology. While it covers most 4.7L engines, it is not compatible with very early non-VVT-i 4.0L engines (pre-1997) due to differences in the gasket's cross-section

Why does the kit include 18 bolt grommets? Can I just reuse my old ones?

You should never reuse old grommets. Over 80% of oil leaks in 4.7L engines are caused by grommets that have hardened with age, losing their ability to provide downward clamping force

Is there a specific way to install the 8 spark plug tube seals?

Yes. These seals have a specific front and back (top and bottom) orientation. Installing them upside down will prevent a proper seal and may cause the seals to dislodge and fall into the engine during future spark plug maintenance.

What is the most common mistake when buying this specific part number?

The most common mistake is confusing this Toyota/Lexus part with similarly numbered kits for other brands (like Ford). Always verify that your engine is a Toyota/Lexus 4.0L, 4.3L, or 4.7L V8 before purchasing.

Will this gasket set fit my Toyota Tundra V8?

Yes, VS50592R is compatible with Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8 engines from 2000 to 2009. It is designed specifically for the 2UZ-FE engine family.
