How long does it take to ship to North Carolina? And how does it arrive?

Mine was shipped to VA from the west coast and arrived about 2 1/2 weeks after I ordered it. Came in a box truck with a lift gate. Paperwork said "threshold delivery".

Shipping a tank like this could run from $400-$1000 depending on where you are and where the tank needs to be returned. You'll be stuck with the tank and will have to try to re-sell locally to come close to break even.

Can this tank be buried? Our town doesn't allow aboveground propane tanks, but we don't need a larger one than this.

Burial tanks are made differently, they have special paint on them and need protection from electrolysis in the ground. You should definitely call a local propane professional for a burial tank. In western WA a burial 250 gallon tank is $6,500 installed. 500 gallon tank is $8,950 installed.

Connection diameter what size hose should i use to connect to the vapor outlet 3/4', 3/8" or 1/2"?

It takes a 1/4" line to the regulator, which should be mounted under the lid. I bought a 12" and bent it into a circle using a Husky tubing bender, keeping the regular protected from the weather. The low pressure line size after the regulator is determined by the number of BTUs that your connected equipment requires. I bought a Rego 2 stage regulator that has a 1/2" output but downsized it to 3/8" since only feeding one grill and a fireplace.
