It is SMALL! But, that is what you want. It fits most word dies and butterfly, dragonfly and stuff like that. It is only 2.5 inches wide, so small dies fit fine. I love it because of its size. Some people said it was too small, but if you know what to expect you won't be surprised by that. It is so portable and nice to bring with to card making parties! I would highly recommend this item. I did try a different one first and it would not cut. This one has no problem cutting any of my dies I have tried in it. It will leave marks on the plates, but that is normal. At some point you will need to order new cutting plates.

I opened the box the minute it arrived so I could try this out. The Sidekick is so easy to operate that I was using it within minutes! This kit is such a great way to start since it includes not only the machine but also a set of 8 dies, two embossing folders, and set of 7 stamps. With this one purchase, I have what I need to get started making cards! Note that this is a SMALL machine meant for small projects (perfect for greeting cards). If you are looking for something to cut or emboss for larger projects, you'll need a larger machine. Be sure to read the product description and size specs. Overall, this was a fantastic value considering everything that comes with it! I'm very happy with the purchase.

So glad I got this! I have the big shot, but it’s a lot of work extra arm cranking when I do small die cuts. Having this little one saves me some effort. Wish I had got this years ago. Love the great Sizzex quality! Got this during Black Friday so a fantastic price too.

This is a great machine or dipping your toes into die cutting and embossing. It's sturdy, suctions to the table well for at least a few minutes, and the dies come out nice. They DO state this in the description - this machine is compatible ONLY with THEIR brand of dies. They aren't kidding, either. I learned this the hard way. It doesn't play nice with generic die plates, and now that I've found myself addicted to playing with the few dies this thing came with, I'm going to be looking for one that's more universal.

I love the ease of use of this machine, and have used it to cut sentiments for almost every card I have made since I purchased it. Last week, the handle broke and I reached out to Sizzix to see if it was possible to purchase a replacement handle, since I didn’t see for sale. They emailed me a response, requesting a few more photographs, which I supplied to them over the weekend. Sizzix replaced the whole unit an hour after I provided them the requested information. I didn’t even complain that the handle broke, although I was disappointed, because I did use it so often that I believe I had gotten value for my money, without the replacement. With their voluntary replacement, I am now a Sizzix first choice customer for life!

Great choice in a die cutter if your space is limited. I purchased this for crafting in our motorhome. So glad that I did!

Item to small and I purchased a new and received a used one, not happy

This little sidekick does everything I expected it to do with my small cutting dies .So very convenient .Easy to use and very light weight. I can keep it on my small card making desk due to its size .I have some pain in my hands and a hard time turning the handle on my regular cuttlebug . The sizzix sidekick handle is very easily turned . In the short time I’ve had it , I’ve used different , but not all of my die cut brands . So far so good . I agree with some other customers , that it would be nice to have longer cutting pads . The embossing folders that come with the little sizzix work nice and crisp with my card stock. When I make a card , I used to dread dragging out my big die cut machine . This little sidekick I can use quickly and easily with hardly any effort . I’m so glad I decided to spend the money and order it .
