Why ??
Why do people make things and take them to market when they don't work? I bought this and returned it within 2 days. The temperature it reads is not even close. Used an additional temperature reading device that I know is accurate to test the new clock. It wasn't even close. 8-10 degrees off.. Thus the rating on the device.

It is a nice clock. The LED is bright
I would have given 4.5 stars if I could. It is a nice clock. The LED is bright. Functions work well. Only one small complaint: the semi-reflective (mirror) coating of the screen. I would prefer a transparent window with a dark black background.
