This tool does a great job in helping to take the top off of five-gallon buckets. Saves my fingers and my fingernails! It’s light weight but sturdy and the hole in the end makes it easy and convenient to hang the tool near where you need it most.

Does what it’s gotta do (functionally), my store uses this for 5 gallon pickle buckets and it’s 10/10. Fully metal and very light as it’s aluminum. My newer team members get shown how to use it and it’s a one and done very easy. Expect a smaller size than the photo though.

This opener replaces the three plastic ones that I had which came with the ice melter product. The plastic ones inevitably break, leaving you to battle with the lid, trying to get some leverage to pry up the curved part that is firmly seated on the pail. When I saw this one, I knew I had to have it. It has since opened two of my buckets, one for ice melter and another for grass seed. It's heavier in your hand and it gives a better grip and contact with the pail. I hand it over my work bench in the garage and it stands out, so I can find it pretty quickly even when I haven't used it for a while. You may not consider it a "need", but if you have grown weary from trying to pry open a plastic lid on a plastic bucket with a screw driver, this will surely add to your peace of mind!

It is much easier that just you hand but a little hard to latch on some buckets. IE the heavy paint style. But it works well on the DYI bucket.
