(UPDATE 5/16/19) The replacement unit so far works perfectly, and Brondell's customer support was excellent. Perhaps the defect was a one off kind of thing. Thank you Brondell.(UPDATE 5/3/2019) Brondell was kind enough to contact to me and has offered to send a replacement for the unit even as far as sending it overnight. They've assured me this is a very uncommon problem with both the temp and the controls. Hopefully all goes well, I'll be providing an update soon but so far Brondell appears to be more than adequately taking care of the problem. Thanks Brondell!So, I've been on the fence about writing this review but I decided I owed it to everyone else to go ahead and do it. This bidet will send near scalding hot water into your business. Brondell gets a star for a stream lined customer service experience and a star for a device that mostly functions albeit sometimes unpleasantly. Unfortunately they did not fix the problems I've had, and I've decided I'm not unhooking this thing and mailing it back for the second time unless they send me a replacement up front.It been a series of disappointments with this bidet, the first was the realization that the saved user settings don't include the forward and backward setting for the water jet... seems like that and temp would be the most important thing, which leads me to the second disappointment which appeared a few weeks after purchase. With the temperature set on high the bidet would suddenly ramp up the water temp enough to make you jump off the toilet, it would then beep and shut down. I'm assuming this was to avoid a McDonald's style coffee incidence with a bidet. The safety shut off works... it's still very unpleasant.So Brondell reviewed the complaints, expedited the repair, was very sorry, etc. etc. I still, had to unhook the toilet seat, buy a new toilet seat to use in the interim since i'd tossed the old one, package it, and ship. "they did cover shipping"The bidet came back maybe 2 weeks later, after hooking it back and excitedly trying out my repaired bidet it immediately sent another scalding hot jet of water back up the business half way through the first cycle.This device works okay if you only use the Auto button on the remote. It will wash at a low temp, "no scalding, sometimes icy cold on start", with jets positioned mid way, and then runs the heater, "which is awesome". If you are like me you will not bother fiddling with multiple controls and settings each time you sit down, it's a literal pain in the @ss. Especially if you turn the temp up to high.Sorry Brondell, I expected much better. Unless something changes, i'd say go with a TOTO unit, the bells and the whistles here are just bell's and whistles, they don't actually do anything useful.

We had a our first bidet toilet seat experience while on vacation earlier this summer. It wasn't a Brondell but between the heated seat, the refreshing approach to cleaning up after a "number 2" we decided it was an experience that we needed to our toilet at home.I first looked for the same brand as what we experience on vacation but quickly found the Swash 1400 as a superior option. Stainless steel in the 'right' places, disinfecting both before and after use (I thought that was a huge plus), and a cool blue light to help guide you to it in the dark of night. I was sold.Installation was a snap -- literally! The seat snaps on to the mount once it is easily installed on the toilet. Water connection is simple. Hardest part for someone may be electric power as must won't have an outlet behind or even near their toilet. I got lucky and was able to find an outlet in the room adjacent to the back wall of the toilet and was quickly able to add a GFCI outlet to plug into.I'm still experimenting with the various settings and controls on the remote. That said, it's simple to use -- intuitive. I've used it a handful of times now and would never go back to paper.Treat yourself and get one of these things! Your wife will love a warm toilet seat to sit on in the cold of winter :-)

Installation was very easy and just as the guide said. The bidet works great. My wife is being treated for Rectal cancer and the radiation has caused the rectum to become extremely sore and tender to the touch. The warm water that is dispensed and not having to use toilet paper has provided a huge amount of relief.Having read other reviews about this and other bidets I chose this one because it provides unlimited hot water on demand and it has been a great purchase. My wife has thanked me many times for getting it for her.

The installation was straightforward and the step-by-step YouTube video was very helpful. The elongated option fit my vintage toilet perfectly. They give measurements to decide whether the round or elongated model works best. The biscuit color also matched a 1990s early 2000‘s common color for toilet fixtures in the USA. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. In fact, I’m probably going to buy one for my other toilet still under the lackluster situation of being “toilet paper dependent.”

Really enjoy this Bidet with all premium features, heat, and dryer, night lights. but it keeps leaking, called the plumber three times and was not able to fix it. He said I need to replace the hose and connector...

The Auto function over heat and shut off by itself.The water get extremely hot and the system would shutdown. this would be repeated a few times before it would start opperating normal again.

My wife fell in love with this from minute one.... Very easy to install, and operate. We haven’t done the user 1/ user 2 settings yet, but the auto setting is doing a great job for both of us. I’m not a small guy, at 6’ 240 lbs, but the toilets seat is fine for me, regardless what the other reviews said.Installation was a breeze, added the water filter afterwards, hopefully to offset the hard water in Illinois.

I found the build quality on this product to be very good. Everything installed as it should have, everything works great and it has been a lifesaver for my mom who is recovering from a stroke.Would definitely purchase again.

I was an innocent. I had never tried one of these before. I was having concerns about my plumbing because I used a lot of toilet paper. After Covid 19 TP shortages, I began to consider alternatives. I read lots of reviews. Some had me howling with laughter! Too much information!I decided to take a chance and I bought this one because my toilet is not white or elongated. I measured carefully and checked my plumbing fittings, and watched some YouTube videos on installation and online reviews.It arrived sooner than expected. It was easy to install. I’m a 67 year old woman and I easily installed it myself. I still need the electrician to come and install a proper plug. For me it was a luxury purchase, but I plan to be close to home a lot this summer. I love that it is almost completely ‘hands free’. I have had surgery on my nether regions and would have found this very helpful postoperatively. Better late than never.The hardest part has been figuring how to tell friends and family about my purchase. By writing this review I now got that out of the way! I would recommend this product!

It is a good product and easy to install. The heated seat and water spray are very good. One of the best feature is self cleaning and continuous hot water supply.
