Distortion at every level

The good news is that it connects easily to my smartphone and is decently priced. The bad news is that it has distortion at every level. I am streaming 320k mp3. The sound quality does not improve even if connected directly. It has okay volume for its size - but distorts everything. I will look elsewhere when getting another.
