From timeless classics to the latest fashions, Fossil is sure to have the timepiece that perfectly compliments your unique sense of style. Founded in 1984 when timepieces were created more for function than fashion, Fossil began to transform this notion with its unique combination of vintage 1950s Americana design and affordably accessible cool style. Adding to their collectability were the one-of-a-kind, trademark tins that came with the watches that mixed a creative spirit with a sense of humor. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.Today, Fossil produces over 300 different styles of watches in a continuously changing lineup. While the majority of designs are created by in-house designers, Fossil has reached out to such contemporary artisans as product designer Philip Starck and famed architect Frank Gehry (designer of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) to create uniquely modern timepieces. In addition to style innovations, Fossil has also helped introduce innovative technologies into watches, such as the Wrist PDA that ran the Palm operating system. Fossil also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel. Since its establishment in 1984, Fossil has created watches for men and women that withstand the test of time. Fossil watches range from rugged, to professional, to every-day, but always place a premium on craftsmanship and fine materials. Fossil’s talented designers emphasize creativity and closely monitor horological trends in order to deliver the watches Fossil's customers demand. From complicated chronographs, to casual watches with fabric straps, to technologically advanced digital displays, Fossil watches all represent a commitment to functional style. My new time piece!
I love the Fossil brand, and never seen this model before. I had to have it. I was so excited when it arrived, brand new and I added it to my collection. My next watch from Fossil will be a dive watch or a full automatic.

Buyer beware
Great loooking watch, in fact it was my favorite. The battery died which operates the the actual watch. I took it to a jeweler who was unable to replace the battery due to the fact that a good portion of the watch would have to be removed in order to do so. After further investigation I discovered that you need to send it back to the fossil factory for battery replacement. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Won't ever buy another fossil again.

Batteries cost almost as much as watch
Watch is very strange. The function of telling time is a quartz movement. It requires a battery. There is also an automatic function that needs the watch to either be worn or stored in a watch-winder case to operate properly. However, the automatic function only exists to make the second-hand tic and a few other for-show-only gears move. It has nothing to to with keeping the time! But the really negative surprise comes when the battery dies (as all batteries eventually do). The watch has a snap-back case which is relatively easy to open if you have the proper tools. However, that's when you first see the little note inside that tells you that the watch must be returned to an authorized Fossil service center for battery replacement. A regular watch dealer (even those who sell Fossil watches) won't touch it.You see, the battery is nestled UNDERNEATH the automatic function. This means that the delicate movement must be fully disassembled to access the battery. So, you mail the watch back to the authorized Fossil service center (incurring the shipping cost). After it gets there, you find out a few weeks later that the cost to replace the battery is $99 (for a $150 watch!). Keep in mind that the battery is a common 370 cell that costs about $3 to purchase outright, so the rest is Fossil labor.Needless to say, I didn't spend the money, so you're left with essentially an ugly bracelet after a coupe of years.
