This is a great book! It is very thorough and detailed and it doesn't make you try to learn too much at once! I would definitely recommend this book to ANYONE who wants to learn how to play the Piano.

for those wishing to learn the basics of piano this could be the book for you. this book will take you from a complete beginner with no musical knowledge, to someone that can read and play music with both hands, play eighth and sixteenth notes, play the sharp and flat keys, play runs of notes and the many included practice tunes, and at the same time be prepared with the required skill set to pursue a particular style of piano playing whether it be jazz, swing, etc.thank you roger evans

This book is a good book for a beginner who knows very little about music and piano playing. It takes the reader from choosing a piano to learning how to read printed music. It even has some short songs for exercise and music practice. It is a good book for beginners of piano.

I'm a busy mom who is really short on time, and yet after reading the first 40 pages of this book, I'm playing 6 songs. . . such as Jingle Bells, Skip to My Lou, Go tell and Rhody, and Beethoven's Ode to Joy. I'm playing two handed at this point, and with very little practicing (again, no time). I have not purchased any other "how to play the piano" books, and don't feel I need to. This book is great!

I think this book is great. I hope to learn the piano and I am 68. what more can I say.

The book is short and to-the-point, giving a novice an easy-to-read primer on the basics of playing, as well as an intro to reading music. I recommend it highly to anyone who is just starting out.
