It's just so hot...
Crazy amount of heat with the dual burners. Quick to set up (follow the directions) and quite easy. Notes to other purchasers, know what you are doing first, molten metal CAN kill you if you get hit in the right place or at minimum permanently disfigure you. Buy a good face mask, thick material pants, long sleeves that go over your glove sleeves, and leather boots are a minimum. Place your mold on something that won't burn and can get hot. If you put it on concrete it will break your concrete, so put it on a paver stone you don't care about, and put THAT on your concrete. If the stone has moisture in it, it can explode, so use a dry paver or a plate of steel would be even better. This thing will melt any aluminum you can throw at it. I cut down an old aluminum extension ladder and this thing gobbled it right up. After a little borax to clean the molten metal and straining off the slag (I purchased an all metal pasta scoop from walmart) I was able to pour some beautiful aluminum ingots.

One burner did not work out of the box
So after I put it together and tried to pre-heat the unit, one side did not work. The seller did contact me to try to resolve the issue however it became clear this was a production issue.

Great furnace
Iโve been using this furnace for several weeks now and love it. I did the refractory cement which I highly suggest before using for safety. Iโm on probably my 10th melting with the little crucible, and everything is great. Itโs affordable but overall quite nice. Iโm excited to do lots more casting

The tips melted off. The thing quickly begins erode away. But it still melts my stuff but always needs maintenance. They used aluminum rivets on the lid and they melted away 1st use. Of course. Not bad overall though.

Disappointed and want to warn
We ordered this to make designs with metal. We started with copper because itโs the cheapest we had no issues with getting the temperature up on the third smelting. The large crucible broke. Someone couldโve been seriously hurt. Thankfully, no one was.. We are throwing this away. If you choose this device, please always wear safety equipment. You can permanently disfigure yourself in an instant when a crucible breaks. I do not recommend this product.

Fast set up, works perfectly, melts Bronze/Brass/Aluminum
After my homebuilt smelter wouldn't heat enough to melt bronze, I bought this. Came in two days. Set up in minutes, connected to a standard propane tank, and fired it up. It melted a crucible of bronze in 15 minutes and I was able to pour a nice set of pattern weights with little trouble. Seems durable and works easily. Would buy again.

Melted cast iron by accident
Sturdy, well insulated, easy to assemble. As a beginner in the metal melting business, I would've liked to know beforehand that the ceramic fiber needs to be sealed to avoid health hazard to the lungs (silica particles are very dangerous). Still 5 star because I should've done my homework. For those who wonder, I'm starting this in 3 steps. 1. 2 coats of Cab-O-Sil as a rigidizer (don't bother buying premixed rigidizer, Cab-O-Sil is a lot cheaper). 2. 2-3 1/8th of an inch coats of satanite ( to get 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch total), then fire the furnace at low temp for ~45 sec then let it cool, repeat the firing at medium temp for a minute then let it cool, repeat again at high temp for 2 min and let it cool. And finally 3. A thin layer of ITC-100 (1/16 to 1/8 of an inch) and do the gradual firing and cooldown sequence again. Then you're good to go. This is what I'm doing, it's not the only viable option, I suggest that you do some research before starting and find what coating suits your forge best. The final coating of itc-100 isn't yet applied and it already burn hot enough to melt a piece of vintage cast iron weight that was making a gap in the door to cure the satanite.
