With The Stories We Tell Ourselves, San Antonio, TX alternative rockers Nothing More's sixth album overall and first since their self-titled 2013 effort, the band sets the bar even higher for cutting-edge rock music. Lead single "Go To War," showcases singer Jonny Hawkins' dynamic vocal range over a mix of electronic and organic instrumentation. "Trust is the foundation of every relationship," Hawkins explains. "As trust erodes, our need for control grows. 'Go To War' is about how we circle the problem, unknowingly spinning the web tighter. If you circle enough, it becomes a spiral. If you spiral enough, it becomes a war." For fans of Papa Roach, As Lions, Like A Storm, Shaman's Harvest, Aranda, Devour The Day, Sanit Asonia and Through Fire.

Very good !
It's a very well made album. I've been a Nothing More fan for the past couple of years but have never purchased any of their albums since I just listed to them on the radio and I expected to continue the trend with this one as well. But after hearing some of the singles from the album I decided to give it a shot and buy it and I'm glad I did. I was a little sceptical about the transition songs to begin with but they actually work very well. The album is plays out very cinematically and tells a story which is very uncommon but totally cool. Overall I can't find one song on this album that I don't like probably because a good 10/12 of the songs I play on repeat because they're just that good. Super impressed with this album !

Something More
My expectations for this album were not extremely high. I enjoyed Nothing More's debut self-titled release, but it felt more like a collection of singles than "The Stories We Tell Ourselves." There is more maturity and flow throughout their sophomore release, and for a radio-friendly band, Nothing More offers a surprisingly complex sound. Well produced and uniquely original, this album is solid, and I mean SOLID. "Start A War" will get stuck in your head and will not leave, and "Fade in, Fade Out" will force you to reflect on the fragile nature of our lives as mortal creatures.I was skeptical to buy this album, and I procrastinated far too long. Lesson learned. I will not hesitate to purchase their next album, and I'm already anxiously awaiting More!

Has entered my top 10 of all-time
Musically, awesome. Lyrically, even more awesome. Tunnels is the best song on this album, with such a varied instrumental approach and a truly inspirational message. FadeIn/FadeOut, thematically reminiscent of God Went North, is a killer cut as well. The singles released in advance of the album are a pretty good representation, highlighting the kinds of heavy guitar, melodic singing, and tight rhythm section to be heard on the other tracks. Their self-titled 2014 album easily joined my top 10 of all-time and it looks like making room in the top 10 for The Stores We Tell Ourselves is upon us. if you enjoyed their 2014 offering, you will want to buy The Stores We Tell Ourselves.

Blown away by this CD !
They earned my respect from the last album but let's just say I did not think in a million years this band could top that one. They just may have. Can't take this off of repeat. Radio hits galore on this album but man they have some cool side B tracks throughout. If you appreciate rock, alternative rock, progressive rock etc you need to get this album and/or download it. Rock fans not familiar with the band, do yourselves a favor and listen. This has to be one of the best rock albums of the year and the music critc reviews are already saying the same thing. Don't deprive yourselves rock fans.

Solid follow-up that stands alone!
Discovered their self-titled disc in 2014 and immediately established a (now well-worn) spot in my workout rotation...this one strays from the previous in several ways with its electronica and semi-industrial flavor, while stretching the boundaries of their songwriting to whole new levels. I do miss the outright guitar fervor of songs like "Christ Copyright", but new tracks like "Do you Really Want It" and "Still in Love" bring it back, along with their killer melodies and sing-along intensity. Radio hits like "Go to War" and "Let 'em Burn" make my inner bassist happy but the riffs are far more staccato than their previous work, and everyone's already commented on the filler tracks...the softer side itch is nicely scratched with tracks like "Just Say When" and "Fade In, Fade Out" which is brilliantly crafted and immediately brought to mind discussions with my own father before he passed. Overall an outstanding follow-up to their self-titled (big label) debut, look forward to the future efforts of this hard-working bunch of Cali boys.

As advertised.
Bought for husband. Cd works and he loves it. However the case was cracked in two spots. This 2as due tomhow it was packaged. The cds were thrown into a box with one layer of the bubble pillows sitting on top for protection. It was in tne same box as a bigger item so it just shifted during transit. This is a cosmetic issue since the cd works, no scratches and i use a cd case. Surprised the cd didnt break. Overall, I am happy with the cd.

Never gets old!!!
Nothing More is incredible - they put so much feeling in their music. For me, there's nothing better than getting a CD and listening to a whole album nonstop on road trips in my car. I can't say how many times I've listened to this album on repeat, but I still haven't gotten tired of it. I've even seen them play a lot of the songs from this album live and they put on an insane show! Jonny's vocals are killer - his live performance is as impressive as the studio, if not more!
