Bougainvillea Magenta/Red 'Barbara Karst' - 2.5 inch Pot

I live in Mpls Minnesota and ordered this. Received early May 2026 and has been potted for 3 weeks now with new leaves growing now.

Nice! It’s a starter plant - they sent me three baby plants but one died! Hasn’t flowered yet & it’s inside the house since it’s winter and we have tons of snow on the ground.

Disappointed. I did receive 4 small hardwood cuttings with a few roots each in about a tablespoon of soil, not in the 2.5" pot advertised. They were quite wilted from shipment but alive.

I received four small plants, which is what I expected and they are growing very well and came very healthy. Very happy with this purchase.

Packaged very well in a tube, so it protected the leaves and everything. The plant is a well-rooted cutting with moisture held inside for the delivery trip. There was a wood stake to hold the plant. However, the stick absorbed the moisture and became moldy; luckily the mold didn’t affect the plant! I think the plant would have been fine in the tube without the wood stick. Had the baby for a few weeks now, doing great, dropped a few leaves but that’s normal. It’s the middle of winter; I put a grow lamp on it and now he’s happy as a clam. Leaves are growing. Can’t wait to nurture him into bloom this summer. Update: Few months later under a grow light and some nurturing, and he has flowered! I had to dock 1 star though because the color is not a Barbara Karst Red as described, but it’s orange (as can be seen in the picture).

Very healthy carefully shipped, taped down in the box then in a package, wet soil was secured in a bag. Arrived green and healthy. I was surprised it was a pair of small plants nit just one. I have potted in organic garden soil and placed inside in window for more maturity.

I live in zone 7 so I'll be potting mine anyway. The plant looks a little banged up from shipping but very healthy. The roots were more than expected. I potted it up straight away and have no reason to believe it won't thrive with the right care. Good price for a little plant. Edit: two years later, I finally got bracts and they're not the color I ordered. Heads up.
