Really impressed! First off the installation couldn’t be any easier. 10 minutes at most. I used a Velcro strap to tidy up the wires, but that was probably overkill. Looks factory and you can’t see anything from the front seat. I was concerned about how it would work with CarPlay, but that isn’t an issue. I drive my truck as normal with CarPlay automatically syncing, no problems. The camera records automatically, works seamlessly. If I need to review or download any videos it’s simple. I turn off my phone Bluetooth, open the Fitcam app, connect via wifi and get what I need. Quick and easy. The video quality is excellent, I did get an anti glare lens and it does help. Overall I couldn’t be more satisfied. I looked at both Fitcam and Mangoal and quite frankly it was a coin toss. Went with Fitcam and am very pleased with the camera and app functionality.

Fits well and easy install for sure. The app takes a little practice but works well. Looks like factory install and video super sharp. Less expensive than a lot on the market and made for most cars. Support was contacted before purchasing and they are very responsive.

This is one of the coolest products I have purchased in a very long time! I, like probably most people have seen car cam footage with outrageous vehicle accidents and especially the intentional scam accidents with someone pulling in front of the vehicle and jamming on the brakes. My feeling is that I would kick myself in the butt if I was scammed like that with no way to prove my innocence. I first purchased a Fitcamx for a used Mercedes I purchased recently and was so impressed that you can't really tell there is a camera that I decided to pick up one for my F250 Ford truck. Again, complete amazement! Not only is the camera almost invisible, it uses the wiring in the rear view mirror so there was no need to run a wire to a power source. Both units installed with a simple tool they provide and were extremely quick and easy with no need for special skills. Besides coming with a removable memory card, I can access the camera on a very handy app! Price is reasonable considering how customized the camera is! Why buy a generic camera that you stick to the windshield, hang wires and take up a cigarette lighter or USB plug when you can have a permanent solution that is designed for that vehicle and almost impossible to detect? I am also thinking that this design won't make my car a target for theft since the thief would first need to know what to look for and then would want that specific part for that specific vehicle. And they would need to know how to remove it quickly.

Long term update 04/22/26..!! I experienced a road rage event and hoped to turn over to law enforcement—disgustingly no video was recorded..!! Camera no longer reliable records—to the point I do not trust it all at this point..!! I’ve tried 2-3 very expensive name brand memory cards that work fine in my DJI products and nothing seems to solve this problem. Every time I’ve went back to watch an important “recorded” video it is nowhere to be found. Lots of leaving my garage videos is all I usually find. It is completely and absolutely unreliable to me unfortunately at this point. Random past day or weeks old ones is all I see but nothing reliable—that’s for sure. The concept is great of hidden behind mirror low profile etc is why I bought it. The one I have is just an absolute turd, I’d be temped to buy another but I’m not convinced a newly purchased one would work any better. If I was sent another camera I would revaluate however. On a side note CarPlay works fine for me with camera now ironically. I no longer like or love this camera, it’s just too unreliable. This is a one star product based on my experience. If I could rate it a 0 star I would do so. Very sad I wasted money on this dash camera I received. Original review: Love the camera and overall easy installation and setup in my 2023 lightning. Only issues so far is the included usb card adapter was not usable as it would not stay together and kept popping apart. Too bad I did not notice this defect sooner. Camera seems to record just fine however the app doesn’t seem to work at all with my wireless car play no matter what I have tried so far. Either it will not connect or it just crashes. I’m still looking for a resolution. In the mean time I’m left with pulling the memory card to retrieve and watch corded clips instead of being able to use the app, a major inconvenience and disappointment.

It works well, my mirror is a bit loose but i think it will be ok. It was very easy to install, the APP is pretty user friendly.

This was super easy to install and nobody even knows it's there. If you need to access videos, you can remove the card, which works fine. The software however sucks. If you want to connect to it with your phone to edit the settings or quickly download a video it's really bad and I have constant issues connecting to it. It often forgets my settings too so I just gave up on reprogramming it. If you are ok with default settings, and getting videos via the sd card it is perfectly fine.

I had watched the installation video and read the instructions which made the installation appear super simple. My experience differed. When mounting the camera bracket, when you remove the screw holding the rear view mirror to the windshield, the mirror can slip loose. They don't tell you that, and after I installed the camera my mirror was flopping around. When I figured out what was happening it wasn't hard to install it tightly (just hold the mirror firmly onto its wedge-shaped windshield lug with one hand while installing the screw and tightening the dash cam bracket with the other. Unfortunately, after I had the camera attached correctly on the second attempt, the camera did not power up when I started my truck. Or maybe it did - it's difficult to tell because the monitor lights on the dash cam are so small and dim they are hard to see in daylight. Discouraged and thinking I had a dead camera, I dismantled everything and started over for the third attempt. I figured that if I just installed the wiring without mounting the dash cam on the windshield, I could at least see if the monitor lights were functioning and confirm that the camera was functional and receiving power. This time after I plugged in the dash cam's Y harness I could see the blue flashing monitor light, so I knew the camera was getting power and was functional. To confirm, I pressed the still camera button a few times to take some pics and video and shut off the vehicle and removed the SD card and put it into the included USB SD card reader. I plugged the card reader it into my laptop, and voila! - there were several video and still pics that I had recorded. Back to the truck to complete the installation. This time I did note that I could see (barely) the monitor lights on the dash cam when I plugged in the Y harness. I still don't know if the camera was working on the initial try, or if I had not pressed the connectors together firmly enough to make contact, or what. Anyway, it was working now and mounted to my windshield. I drove around and let the camera do it's thing and again confirmed it was functioning by swapping the SD card into my laptop. The native Windows 10 movie app played the video files which looked very bright and clear, even at night. The installation video said you need to get a Torx driver. You don't - it comes with a small Torx driver in a zip lock bag along with the longer replacement mounting screw and two washers (not sure what those are for - I didn't need them). I installed their Fitcamx Android app on my phone. Again, their video make it look easy but it wasn't. I read something that said If you have Android Auto paired with your Ford Sync their app won't install. I gave up after another hour of fiddling with it. Maybe I need to turn off Android Auto on my phone first or disconnect it from my truck, before the app can find my cam, but not really sure. That will have to wait for another day. By the time I got to the software installation frustration point I had spent several hours screwing around with this "Plug and Play" camera, but at least I had a functional camera that I can use. I know the camera works, and if I need to view the videos I can pop out the SD card and load the files onto my laptop. No Android software or phone needed. The Fitcamx dash cam works by itself. It writes files to a new SD card and works without software intervention. The only issue I have is that the file creation date is incorrect. Reformatting the SD card with the Fitcamx app is needed to correct that. The camera comes with a 64 GB SD card installed. After confirming the camera worked I swapped it for a 128 GB SD card and it worked fine also. Update 6/21/2024 - I got interested again and was able to connect the Fitcamx Android app to the camera. I first turned off Bluetooth on my phone, which may have been the problem (but I'm not sure). In my phone settings I found the name of the Fitcamx Wifi (CARDV_something), selected it, and typed in the password ("12345678"). Then I launched the Fitcamx app on my phone. The app immediately connected to the cam and I could view and download the files to my phone. I took the opportunity to go through the multiple settings on the Fitcamx, changed the video file resolution and file duration, and reformatted my 128 GB SD card to correct the file saving timestamp, and took a few test photos to verify the file names. Everything works now so I am upgrading my review to 5 stars. I will blame part of the initial difficulty in setting this device to my ignorance working with Wifi, Bluetooth, configuring Android apps, etc.

This was fairly easy to install and worked great for a couple of months, but at some point it quit working and will not turn back on. We have only had it installed for about 6 months, so this is SUPER disappointing. UPDATE: customer support reached out immediately and got it working again! Great experience getting help!
