Hair Straightening and Styling Brush | Great for Second Day Styling (4-1/2 in)

This brush is a nice alternative to the clamp styler straightener. The advantages are: it’s harder to burn yourself, it’s somewhat less damaging to hair, it’s easily adjustable and SHOWS the digital temperature setting on a digital display screen, the comb is built-in, and it’s 100-240 volts so all you need is a small adapter plug and it works anywhere in the world. It does seem a bit hotter in 100-120v countries than in 200-240v places. This product is advertised as good for short hair, too, but probably won’t work on hair that is less than 4 or 5 inches long. In my experience, the straightening effect doesn’t last as long as a traditional hair straightener, but either way it’s not a big deal since the effect is gone after washing for both tools. It seems a lot of reviewers don’t understand this point (ask your stylist if you want to confirm): NO hair straighter or heat brush is permanent, or even semi-permanent! If you want a more permanent solution, your ONLY choice is to get chemically-assisted hair straightening in a salon. That will last for months, but also damages your hair somewhat like bleaching does. So it’s certainly not for everyone. Anyway, I still recommend this as a daily hair straightener, but make sure you apply a heat protectant product to your hair first AND that your hair is completely dry before using it. Start with a lower temperature first and then go up in increments (it goes in increments of 20 degrees) until you get the temperature you need. And don’t worry about a slight buzzing sound - that’s the ionizer pumping out positive ions to help reduce/prevent frizz. If this product stops working, I will edit this and drop the review score, but for now it’s been working fine for months. Make sure not to get this product wet!

I am very satisfied with this brush. I had low expectations before as I have volume hair naturally. I wanted to reduce the volume and it definitely works. It gets about 5-10 minutes to achieve it. You can preset the desired temperature depending on what works best for your care. The brush is warming up in about 30 sec to the desired temperature. You can rotate it easily without rotating the cable which is very convenient. The only thing I can complain is the operational button located on the brush hand where you usually keep it. So, it can be pressed and switched off unintentionally. So you need to be aware of it and check you didn't press it from time to time during usage. Besides that it works good and seems as good value for money

I was pleasantly surprised with this gadget. I was skeptical at first but figured I’d give it a go because I’m trying to be gentler on my hair. I’ve been having a lot breakage and i heard these are less damaging than flat irons. After doing a bit of research I found this model to have the lowest possible heat setting. This was a major selling point bc I have thin, fine hair. I generally leave it under 300 degrees and I’ve noticed a lot less breakage than with a flat iron. It glides pretty smoothly through my hair whereas my hair was always getting snagged in between the plates of my flat iron. I also like that it leaves some of your natural body in your hair instead of making it pin straight and lifeless. I don’t mind if my hair isn’t stick straight as long as the frizz is tamed so this works great for me. For reference I have shoulder length fine, curly hair. It’s also easy to do a little flip or wave by wrapping the hair around the brush and you don’t have to worry as much about burning your hair off. On the con side you can’t load up your hair with product before using bc it’s hard to clean between the bristles. Also, if you have very curly hair it’s probably not going to straighten it entirely. If I let my hair air dry in to it’s natural ringlets and then use this brush I get most of the curl out but I will still have some bends in certain spots. Overall I am very happy with the purchase but it might not be for everybody.

Game changer! I bought this hairbrush straightener for my very thick, curly, kinky hair it works amazingly! It heats up quick, stays on, the high temp is perfect for my hair type. It’s straightens it out along with providing a beautiful shine without making it heavy. I have had a neck injury and have limited range of motion in my neck, hands, arms I’m able to reach the back of my head with ease with the XL size. Love it❤️ I have a Dyson that was over $600 that I couldn’t use effectively on the back of the head, REVLON’s bristles are thicker/longer to accommodate my thick hair & is a great value!

This is exactly what I needed. It straightens my hair without burning it. I've worn my hair naturally for years but as it greys and becomes coarser and drier, I've not been able to have soft curls. This straightener is so easy to use and restores softness and shine to my hair.

I was really excited to try the REVLON SmoothStay XL Straightening Brush, and while it has some great features, it didn’t fully meet my expectations. The brush heats up quickly and is easy to use, which is a big plus. It worked well on my friend’s fine hair, leaving it sleek and smooth in no time. However, I have thick, wavy hair, and it struggled to give me the results I wanted. Even at the highest heat setting, I had to go over each section multiple times, and it still didn’t get as straight as I’d hoped. It’s also a bit bulky, making it harder to reach the roots or use on shorter layers. Overall, this brush might work great for people with thinner hair or less texture, but it’s not the best choice for anyone with thick or coarse hair.

Talk about the "styling tool I didn't know I needed but now I have it how did I manage without it?". For years I've been letting my very thick, coarse hair air dry for convenience - I'm currently sporting a sleeker, straighter bob, but didn't want to go back to blow-drying to style it, as it takes way too much time. Had never even heard of heated brushes until recently, and after a bit of research decided to go with this Revlon - the brush shape/size is good for me (didn't really want a paddle brush) and I didn't want to spend a bunch on something I wasn't sure I'd use much. Tried it for the first tie and cannot believe how well it works to style and shine my straight-ish hair. No idea how it would handle serious curls/waves, but to style mine and give it a refresh between washes this thing is AMAZING. The firm plastic bristles are ideal for my thick hair, the adjustable heat is great (and it gets HOT - I actually had to turn it down), and while it is of course heavier than a regular brush, it's not weighty and is balanced well. The only thing I could wish is that it came as a half-round (or even round) for increased volume, but I can work around that by turning the brush as I use it to bend the ends under into a sleek bob. Bottom line: exactly as described, affordable, and works brilliantly for me!

I purchased this straightening brush 4 months ago and decided to give it a thorough test before reviewing. I have shoulder length, fine hair, but a lot of it so it appears thick. It's wavy/curly if I don't do anything to straighten it. Although my curly look is super-easy, I do like switch my look up with a straight one, but also hate to spend a long time with the blow dryer/flat iron. Reviews of this product convinced me that it might be exactly what I was looking for. I would say that is about 85% true in my case. Pros - Good range of heat settings, straightens your hair in a natural-looking way, not like it was flat-ironed. Spraying the right kind of heat protectant on beforehand will result it a glossy, shiny look. Cons - 1) Isn't intended for wet hair. I still have to blow my hair dry before using, because my hair will curl up and then take longer for this straightener to smooth it out. If your hair isn't as curly, you might get away with just air-drying it before using this tool. If you're in a hurry when doing your hair (which I usually am), you might still be stuck requiring a blow dry. Humidity also plays a big role in that, but it drying time and curliness happening while drying. 2) Is really difficult to clean between the bristles. I assume that you're not supposed to submerge it and the bristles are really close together. If anyone figures out a good way to do it, please comment here to help me out. 3) The ON/OFF switch is placed on the handle right where you are gripping it, and you can easily turn the power off without knowing it (there is no sound) until it starts cooling off. Really frustrating, as I'd done it a number of times myself. Summary - Still like it, but would purchase something different if it had all the Pros of this, without the Cons.

Was very excited waiting 3 weeks in Singapore for the brush but came a returned product -> box was wrinkled and retaped + finger prints all over the brush handle. Not a great start to my very first order from the US. For some reasons couldnt upload images. Brush is very good but very heavy like most have said, hence difficult to maneuver, cant use like a straightener. For me, because of the weight, i couldnt really get to the bottom sections of my hair unless i clip or tie up the top part which defeats the purpose for me looking for something easy and quick to fix my frizzy hair. The brush heats up real quick and does tame my thick and frizzy hair for many hours but dont expect straightener effect cos it does get frizzy a few hours later. Still works for me. Price wise, Amazon algorithm keeps track of my searching for this product and so it is now cheaper than what i paid for + shipping from Amazon.us. Previously was 2 times more expensive to buy directly from Amazon.sg but now is cheaper than what i have paid for. So gotta be mindful.
