no noise, easy to put together, beautiful low profile
honestly I don't think I have anything I dislike about this frame. the biggest thing I was looking for was a frame that made no noise, and this frame makes NO NOISE. 1. the no noise system: I should mention I am a slim person (6 ft but 140 lbs) so im not sure how much that can change if you are a heavier weight person (my memory foam bed also weighs about 80 lbs). although I have sat on my bed/frame with one other person and still no squeaks and creaks. my old bedframe was completely made of wood and oh my gosh, the amount of noise it made ๐. this one is metal and wood and uses protective foam on the metal to prevent wood shifting and noise. how long that foam will last until its worn down completely? I dont know. the wood slat system is interesting tho and ill share more later on. 2. appearance: another thing i wanted was something low to the ground, low profile, and sturdy. and this bed is low to the ground, so if you're into that, this is for you. grab you a measuring tape, see whats ideal for you. my bed/frame together is 17in in height and I am happy with it. there is of course not a lot of storage room underneath. I have a small room and not a lot of space so this bed feels elegant and fits well with how little room I have to work with. I saw with some bedframes, the middle support leg was not far back enough and people would stub their toes when approaching their bed. even though there isn't a middle leg at the edge of the frame, it still feels held up well and supported... and im not stubbing my toe lol. 3. assembly: uhh very easy to assemble. the instructions were clear for me, I wasn't keeping track of how long it took me as I enjoy assembling things and get lost in it. but I have no complaints. my package came with handy tools that helped secure the bolts and screws which I am very thankful for. I did not need any extra tools. it also comes with extra screws in case you loose any. just know the box is HEAVYY. I needed help bringing it upstairs. 4. the slat system: the slats are secured to the frame by velcro which i thought was intriguing. I was concerned id hear the velcro whenever I'd get into bed or move around but I did not. they were also pretty easy to put in. a bit heavy but fun to stick them in place. watching it all come together was satisfying. I wasn't tryna go crazy with seeing how sturdy they were before placing my bed on top, but like any long piece of wood, they bend in when applying pressure to a slat. so far after sleeping on it for a few weeks, none of them have broken and my bed does not sink. it actually feels much more supported (this new mattress was previously on the ground). 5. packaging: the box came without dramatic rips or tears or looking like it was thrown around. nothing inside was damaged either and all the pieces included were inside. I think I would have liked some box handles or something. I think it arrived a bit earlier than anticipated too. overall, great bed frame if youre looking for a little something nice at a low price. I highly highly recommend ๐

Sturdy, Quiet, and Simple
Summary: This is a very sturdy, easy to put together bed. If you are looking for a low, simple platform bed, this works great. Pros: + Super simple to put together. It's I think 5 steps total, and all the pieces are numbered. + The little rachet is AMAZING. Shout out to Zinus on including this in every bed. + No squeaking - bed is extremely quiet to sleep on. + Seems very sturdy (but I haven't had it that long) + No chips or issues with shipping Cons: - No way to attach a headboard. I have a headboard from a platform bed, and I attached it using clamps. I also got a couple of foam pads and set it directly against the wall. That is working fine, but there is no way for me to attach it more firmly to the bed. - The "non-slip" stuff on the slats is a sticker. It will mess up the fabric back of your mattress. On top of that, if you don't use the sticker, the mattress will slide around the frame. I suggest putting one of those non-slip rug pad type under the mattress. Gorilla brand sells something specifically for this, but it's basically just a rug pad. It works great and is cheap. Neutrals: * The slats are wood. They don't quiet go to the end of the bed on either side, but the mattress lays on the metal frame too. Not a big deal, but I wanted to point it out. * The box is bigger than similar Zinus beds. This is because the head board/foot board come fully assembled.

I never received from Amazon but bought elsewhere & this WORHT THE $
So this was my 1st time purchasing Zinus from Amazon & I never got my delivery so Amazon refunded my $ & I bought this from Walmart.com, I have purchased this frame in a California King, King, & Queen size from Walmart.com. So that being said my comments/rating are from the Walmart.com purchase. This is a good brand they have quality Mattresses & Frames, it comes with the coolest little ratchet/Allen wrench tool to assemble, easy to read & follow instructions (which seems almost nonexistent these days!) a breeze to assemble, it's 1 person job takes 20mins tops! Way better than a traditional bedframe, & the wood slats are heavy duty, the packaging is nice, no damage in shipping, everything is easy to open/unwrap! It's basically a Solid Square the design is simple & so sturdy! As I stated everything slides easily together & you put a screw in the middle (6 screws total). The wrench/Allen wretch lets you actually tighten it perfect! The slats have a double sided tape that you pull off after assembly to hold your mattress in place so no slippage! There are NO CREAKS no matter the activity (I'll not elaborate, sure you can get what I'm saying here)! I use the California King in my room, the Queen is in my guest room, & the King in my kids room, my point is it supports all ACTIVITIES & Weights (we had a heavy set guest 200 plus & she said it was the best nights sleep), my daughter has disobeyed the no jumping on the bed during slumber parties (multiple 12yr old girls giggling & jumping at once & nothing broke, wish it could keep that quiet at 1am! lol). I also own the Zinus mattresses in matching sizes for the frames & different widths- guest room is 8in, mine is 14in, & I think my daughter has 12in. I like firm & it's firm! No sagging, no body prints, & each mattress we bought is actually thicker than advertised the 8in when it fully set up was almost 10in! I'm telling you it is well worth the money whether it's a new mattress or a just the frame! Did I mention they literally made an cross between an Allen Wrench, a socket wrench it's soo cool! I actually use it for other things, cause it has different head sizes for the screws! So if you're looking for something that won't smash your fingers, or break, come unhooked but you can't rehook it (like the traditional meatal frames), easy to assemble & take down if needed, as well as cool tool, & quality materials.. Look no further. I'm serious! I have spent upwards from $3,000 on different mattresses & they all sank, or hurt me, squeaked, or were a million pounds, awkward, bulky need I go on & No I do not work for the company, nor am I being paid or getting anything free (If offered I'll gladly accept/try more wrenches or maybe pillows, or anything else Zinus has on the market...just saying...) Really though all the long winded stuff aside this is actually a good modern product that is a great value, & well worth the buy. I'm a repeat customer & every guest I've had has been happy & even asked where I got the frame etc. It also looks good & not weird like some of the new age designs

Quick and easy assembly. Quality ok for price. Mattress moves with time
Probably one of the best bang for the buck for a sturdy platform bed. The box and packaging gets 3 stars for recyclability: every part came wrapped in #2 recyclable plastic bags, 6 small pieces of soft/plasticky foam pieces and 2 larger pieces of styrofoam. A few small pieces of cardboard besides the box itself. A good number of zip ties (where were easy to remove for reuse without cutting). Assembly was straightforward with clear instructions. Took about 20 minutes for 1 person to put together. Comes with an easy to use ratchet in addition to an allen key for assembly. 3 sizes of bolts came with an extra of each. The overall build quality and finish was good for the price $110ish for a queen. the side beams don't fit perfectly flush but if your sheets/comforter drape over the side, no one will notice the 1-2mm a given joint could be off by. All the bolts came with a flat washer and a cut washer each to ensure nothing loosens over time. The wooden slats were sturdy and easy to lay on a Velcro strip already pre-stuck to the frame. The main design flaw is the mattress likely won't stay in place over time. The wooden slats do have a a couple of peel and stick double sided tape strips - but I'm not sure how well they'll hold since they will be unstuck every time the sheets are changed.

Solid, not highlighted
the 6" tall version of this stand with the wooden "touches" for DOUBLE THE PRICE is what comes up when you look for a mattress platform. This one seems to be just fine, and is pretty dang inexpensive. Assembly is absolutely idiot proof and the whole thing is very sturdy. The included ratcheting hex wrench is a very nice addition - I would not use power tools to assemble stuff like this because even a 10.8v (or 12v MAX, if you speak marketing BS) impact would probably strip the bolts and threads, but maybe not. I stuck on some 1" felt pads to each foot to make it easier to glide it across my laminate floor so sheet-changes are made very easy. The wooden slats come in two "gangs", each tied into a group by a big strip of velcro. The slats stay put and are not spaced so far apart as to cause issues (from what I can tell) with placing a mattress directly atop the slats. One minor complaint, and boy can I complain, is that the corners are very sharp, where a mattress does not have sharp corners... I'd almost prefer that it was slightly shorter than the mattress by even just an inch so as to prevent me from ramming my foot into the corner of the frame when careless stumbling into our out of bed. Can't fault them for building it to spec, though. One slat on each "gang" of slats has an adhesive strip that, when the backing is peeled off, helps to keep the mattress from shifting around on top of the slats. This does work! Time will tell how well it will tolerate removal and replacement of the mattress, but for those of us with pillow tops or memory foam mattresses, that never flip them, it's a non issue; it'll basically just sit there forever. I'd suggest it to anyone who hopefully finds this product compared to the 6" tall version with the fancy little $80 premium piece of wood trim across the front. This works fine.

Impressively amazing
I recently moved into a new apartment and have been sleeping on a matress on the floor. Wasn't an ideal situation, but I did not have the budget for a 400 dollar + bed frame. I purchased this one due to the shortness (I prefer lower to the ground) and the minimal design which matches the rest of the furniture in my bedroom. I finished the build in about 45 minutes, solo, as a surprise for my boyfriend when he gets off work. The directions were very clear and I said to myself, no way will it be that easy (just a back and front of assembly directions)...but it was! All the pieces were laid out nice in the box and MOST** of the screws went in just fine... ** I had 2 issues with assembling this bed frame. 1. Step #1 did not seem to line up right. I realized shortly after that the #1 side piece had to be level. When building, I suggest putting together the headboard (just stack the 2 pieces together and it will stand by itself), then put piece #1 into the #1 joint and then into the #5 joint on the headboard side (itll make more sense with the directions in front of you). Please take this advice (for the other side too. I believe the numbers are #2 joint and #6 headboard connection)! It'll do wonders for your assembly. 2. The #8 foot closest to the headboard did not touch the ground. Very odd, but it might be an issue with my floor (my apartment is not the best quality). I easily fixed it with an extra "foot pad thing" I got with some chairs I assembled a bit ago. If you don't have one of these, you can buy one, or diy and use cardboard or something that can slide with the bed. A few notes I'd like to mention. 1. The box was VERY heavy, but the bed is not. I am frankly surprised at this. I could barely get it in the door, but when putting my rug under the bed, I could lift it with one arm. 2. It is low, but I can still fit my vaccuum under it! 3. It is super sturdy 4. The hardest part is the slats. They are velcro and you need to eye it right to make sure both sides go on straight and even. On a difficulty scale, the slats are like a 3 and the bed is maybe a 1. 5. The headboard is hollow. When installing the long bolts into the headboard to connect the side pieces, dont think too hard about getting it in the invisible hole (it's on the inside). I found it easier to be very gentle, and not overthink about where the hole is. Keep your hand level and slide it in - it should enter both holes this way. I 11/10 would recommend this purchase for anyone with the same design style. Its wonderful! It comes with an awesome wrench that is soooo much better than an Allen key (comes with one of those too). I PRAISE them for that little addition. It even has sticky tape on the slats to prevent your mattress from moving crazy, but they aren't too sticky that you can't relocate the mattress after placing it on the frame.

Very good buy and gets the job done
Iโve been sleeping on the queen size frame (no headboard) for 2 years. I have a fairly tall (15 inch) mattress. The frame has been excellent. Definitely 5 stars! After living with the bed for awhile, I wish I had bought a bed with a white frame and slightly higher off the ground, but not much. The bed feels low to me when I lay down, but I think it makes my room feel more spacious and airy. If you are looking for a low bed with slats, this bed is great. I love not having to buy a foundation. Assembly was very easy. I also have the twin size frame and have a mattress on it for my dogs. If you want a very low bed for a child, I think this bed is a good pick.

VERY Satisfied! Sturdy, easy to put together and NO SQUEAKS!!
I was looking for a sturdy bed frame for my TemPurpedic Queen/Memory Foam mattress (which is very heavy!) and am so pleased with this frame that I'd buy it again. I wanted something low to the ground so my 13 year old pup could jump up, yet something high enough to fit a few things underneath (blankets, duffel bags, shoes, etc.), plus avoid a drafty floor and it checks every box. It was easy to put together - I did so by myself and was able to slide it across the carpet and set it where it needed to be alone. What an improvement to my rickety West Elm bed frame that was falling apart and cost me 3x as much. With this, even if it broke while moving, the price was well worth the investment. The negatives: The frame did have a few dings from the shipment (but hardly noticeable. Plus, it's covered by linens anyway) and I had to wedge a corner of the side rail open in order for it to fit over the end rail but even with those little kinks, it only took me 45 mins from opening the box to laying my bed on the frame. So, at this price point AND delivery to your front door, it saved me time, money and more importantly, IT'S STABLE!! It's been about a month and absolutely no squeaks or movement when my partner rolls over. Note, we have carpet in the bedroom so I can't speak to how it would perform on a hardwood floor. Overall: A definite recommend. Delivery was just over a week and we all sleep better as a result of this purchase!
