Well built hitch
Unlike others, the box the hitch came in was relatively unmanaged, and the hitch was in good shape inside. It’s stout, and once attached fits perfectly under the bumper of my 2023 cx5. Install as others have mentioned can be tricky. I watched many videos and read a lot of the reviews here. Here’s my 2 cents on the install: If you have a lift or ramps, it will make your life easier for sure. Others reported doing it without ramps so I installed it from the ground. It’s a lot more awkward trying to angle and lift the hitch into place and under the bumper fascia with the small clearance from the ground with the exhaust lowered. Get a friend to help. While you can get creative and put it on yourself, even with my wife helping, we struggled a bit on the alignment of the hitch and getting the first bolts started with the two of us. Would be a lot harder just myself. I ended up using Jack stands to help support the hitch during this part of the install. Use packing tape for the washers as suggested in the videos. I read in one review where superglue was used and almost went that route. The hole in the washers is smaller than that on the hitch itself, and the tape allows a little bit of flex/movement in the washers to help finagle pulling the bolt through with the fish wire. I think having a truely fixed washer ups the chances of struggling getting both front and rear bolts to line up unless you get lucky on exactly where you glued the washer on. Overall, very doable diy, but there was some frustration and cursing during the install. The hitch is great, used it this weekend for my bike carrier! I plan to go back in a few weeks to make sure the bolts are still properly torqued down.

Loos great
Finally, after a year of just sitting in my garage, I finally installed it to my wife’s 2022 Mazda CX-5. I used a floor jack to hold the hitch into position. Installation is simple but this requires at least 2 people when aligning and placing the bolts into the frame. It’s a perfect fit and looks like an OEM part. We haven’t towed anything yet, waiting on the Curt 4-pin trailer electrical connector.

Great value
The dealer wanted to charge me over $400 plus labor to install a hitch on my Mazda CX-5. So I just casually looked to see if I could find one cheaper and maybe pay someone else to install it. After reading reviews, I settled on this one. After ordering, I started watching videos and realized I could install it myself. The fish wire included with this made install a breeze! Definitely a hack I'll use in future. My husband and I installed this in roughly 45 minutes. The hardest part of the task was us arguing about how to slide it in to seat it (turns out I was right, he was wrong, so we had to pull it back and reseat it lol). Everyone said it was hard to pull out the exhaust hangars, it wasn't. Pop them out using a screwdriver to pry them with a little effort. He held it in place, I installed and torqued all the hardware. Popped the exhaust back on. It was too easy. The packaging was damaged and torn when it arrived as others have mentioned, but the hitch itself was not damaged. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. I have hauled the bike rack, a store rack that I have, and a small kayak trailer. I couldn't be happier, or prouder of the hundreds of dollars I saved for a great quality and highly rated product.

Excellent Hitch - I purchased for 2017 and 2021 CX-5
This is an excellent hitch that is easy install. Very well built and I feel confident in the capacity ratings. We used this primarily for bike racks and ocassional towing of a CT90 on dirtbike rack. With our new CX-5 (added AWD) it was a no brainer to purchase the same hitch and install it. We continue to use this regularly for bikes, dirtbikes, mopeds, and last summer even towed a small ski boat comfortably. My brother was so impressed he also purchased the hitch for his wife's CX-5. The hitch is tucked up and out of the way without requiring any cutting or modifications to the car. I'm very happy with the installation. Install time is less than an hour if you know what you're doing. Purchased this with: CURT 56377 for plug and play wiring harness https://amzn.to/3S2Yii9 (see my review how to easily wire to rear 12v outlet for temporary use) CURT 21510 hitch pin https://amzn.to/3XYrBq8 I like the rubber coating to prevent chipping of the hitch safety chain rings.

Good fit 203
There is a little bit hard to install. The bolt comes with fishing steel wire that help a lot in mounting. Installed on 2022 Mazda CX5

Perfect Fit and Easy Install
The hitch was installed on my Maxda Cx-5 and it fit perfectly. Hardware included and paper instructions. The installation video was clear and easy to follow, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Great receiver, questionable instructions
So far, so good. The hitch receiver is great, though installing it as a first time installer without a lift and without someone who knows how to install them was.. "fun".. 🤣 The instructions are a bit scant, so let me just give you a tip that you gotta tuck the wings / sticking out parts under the bumper at kind of an angle before pushing the bumper into the right place. I'm sure it can be done with one person, but if you don't have a lift, I definitely suggest two to get those holes (giggity) lined up properly for the bolts. Check out some online videos to fill in the blanks on the instructions. Make sure to torque those bolts properly. Anyway..great product as always. Yay towing campers because that's cheaper than a hotel room! 🤣

Great hitch - relatively easy to install. First find the mounting hole locations on the car frame, remove tape covering them, scrape away any excess spray gunk off the frame and fish the 2 supplied bolts and supports into the frame with the supplied wire. 10 min tops. Then, drop the exhaust (which is WAY easier than it sounds - tie a rope between the rear wheel springs and under the exhaust pipe to support, then spray the the 4 rubber supports with WD-40 and pry off the exhaust - this literally takes 10-15 min. Then you slide the hitch up over the exhaust and behind the bumper. This was (at least for me) a bit tricky to slide in - it is definitely a tight fit and requires some finesse. Once that’s done, there are 4 bolts to put on, which are relatively easy to access with a ratchet. Tip - there is a washer for each bolt that needs to go between the car frame and the hitch. This is hard to do once the hitch is in place (tight work area), so before you start anything, use packaging tape to affix the washers in place to the hitch and poke holes in the tape for the bolts. Makes the job so much easier (I can’t take credit for this). Finally, slip the rubber exhaust mounts back on, remove the rope and you’re done. Less than an hour total if you are even slightly handy.

Just installed today. Did 80% myself (probably could have done it all to be honest but father son time is rare these days haha). I did this from the floor of my garage. (Headlamp is your best friend) I also took the 2 extra bolts off to remove the muffler, I highly recommended doing this because there so much more room to work and see. Everything fit perfect and it seems really solid. Happy with my purchase!

The fit of this hitch is flawless with my 2022 CX-5. It could not fit any better. When watching the online instructional videos on installing it, every video showed the car being on a hoist. Not having a hoist, I was worried that it would be hard to do with the car simply jacked-up on jack stands. Well, it is doable without a hoist. Not easy, but doable. If you go this route, read-up on the correct and safe way to do the work.
