These Chili Crisp are addicting
I've worked my way through a lot of chili crisps at this point. Some are fine. Some are genuinely good. FLY BY JING's Xtra Spicy version is in a different category entirely — it's the one I reach for when I want heat that actually means something, layered on top of a flavor profile complex enough to justify the price tag. What makes Sichuan chili crisp special — and what FLY BY JING nails better than most — is the interplay between heat and that distinctive mouth-numbing tingle from Sichuan peppercorns. It's not just spicy. It's aromatic, savory, deeply fragrant, and a little electric on the tongue. The Xtra Spicy version amps up the chili heat noticeably without sacrificing any of that complexity. Spice lovers, this is your jar.The texture is excellent too — packed with crispy bits of chili, garlic, and aromatics that add crunch to whatever you put it on. I've spooned it over fried eggs, stirred it into noodles, drizzled it on dumplings, mixed it into salad dressings, and used it as a finishing oil on roasted vegetables. It elevates every single one of those applications without overpowering them. That versatility is what keeps me coming back. The ingredients are noticeably cleaner and more premium than mass-market alternatives — you can taste the quality. No artificial anything, real Sichuan peppercorns, and an oil that doesn't taste cheap or greasy. This is a chef-grade product packaged accessibly.Pricier than grocery store options, but worth every cent. I keep two jars in rotation now — one in the fridge, one in the pantry as backup — because running out is simply not an option.

Best chili oil
Best chilli oil I’ve ever tasted. Truly has a kick to it and will flavor your favorite dishes with authentic Sichuan flavors, and makes a great dip when mixed with kewpie mayo. I repeatedly order this over and over again when I run out. I rarely write reviews this one is worth the purchase if you can handle spice

Like nothing I've had before
I got the X-Tra Spicy Chili Crisp because it was EBT eligible and the regular Sichuan Chili Crisp was not at the time I ordered. I was hoping it wasn't too spicy because while I do like spicy food, I know a lot of stuff that's labeled as extra spicy tends to be overly hot with no flavor, and I don't generally like stuff that's hot just to be hot or for bragging rights.I also noticed some people's reviews showing their deliveries had leaked and I was concerned about that. Mine did not, and there was definitely a "pop" when I opened my jar. This was my first time buying any kind of chili crisp product. I'd seen lots of hype and kudos about the Sichuan Chili Crisp and decided I wanted to give it a try. I've had house chili oils at ramen restaurants and I've had other types of chili oil hot sauces (Tomasa Hot Sauce, I highly recommend it!).I opened the jar and was met with a very pungent smell. I did read that it had preserved black beans and mushroom powder in it and you can definitely tell. I made sure to fully stir up the jar. I decided to taste the oil from the spoon just to gauge the heat and see if it was going to hot for my liking and overpower any flavor it might have. I definitely tasted the flavor (with the concentration of the smell it would be hard not to) but the oil did come off pretty hot and hit me a bit in the back of the throat.I decided to try this on a Birria and Cheese pupusa from Costco. I figured the heat would be good with this and I know what the flavors are to have a good base line. What sorcery is this chili crisp? The heat wasn't so intense anymore. But the flavors that were there suddenly were more intense and enhanced the flavor of the pupusa so much more than any of the other hot sauces I've had them with. I'm honestly shocked that the heat level seemed diminished. It was noticeable before. Now I don't notice it. Maybe because I had already tasted it, I was already used to it. But the flavors it added were amazing and I'm still tasting the combination 10 minutes later.I'm excited to try this on other foods like pizza. I have some dumplings in the freezer too I'd like to try it with. Eggs are a no brainer.I still want to try the original Sichuan Chili Crisp, but the X-Tra Spicy was delicious and honestly surprised me in how it transformed once I added it to food. I'd definitely buy it again.

Great taste and texture, not so great seal on packaging.
This is a fantastic hot sauce! The taste and levels of heat are wonderful and the texture and crunch take it up to a whole different level. I have had it on eggs, burgers, tacos, pizza and a number of other foods and it has proven to have something to add to each food item. The one negative, and the reason why this is getting only 4 stars, is that the jar doesn't seal well at all and therefore leaks all over. The glass jar comes with a metal lid that doesn't fit back on right after you open it.We have solved this by keeping the jar into a baggie to contain the mess. It would be much better if the manufacturer would create more reliable packaging.

Not Crispy
I just purchased this for the first time. I usually buy Laoganma Spicy chili crisp (which is amazing) but I had ran out and was in a pinch and figured that I'd try something different. I purchased the Xtra spicy. I enjoyed the taste, very different to what I normally purchase. in my The spice level is not all that spicy. The thing that I was most disappointed in was that it was not crispy. Not crispy at all. I also find that it's expensive for only 6 oz. Would I buy it again? Perhaps at some point if I were ever in a pinch again but to be honest, it's not on my radar.

Actually spicy!
I enjoy the Sichuan flavor to this sauce, although it's less crunchy bits/garlic and more oil than similar brands. I typically eat medium spicy foods and tried both the regular spicy of this brand (I would rate not spicy enough) and the Xtra spicy - the Xtra spicy is definitely spicy enough. I would rate it the perfect spice level as I don't feel compelled to add too much of it, but it brings that Sichuan flavor and good heat. Better value if on sale (it's a pretty small jar)

Tasty on just about everything
Exactly the heat level I was looking for.I’ve tried a lot of chili crunches, but the Xtra Spicy Sichuan Chili Crisp really nails the balance. It tastes great—it has that deep, savory umami flavor and the signature Sichuan tingle without being overwhelming. Most importantly, it has just the right amount of spice. It’s definitely a step up from the original, providing a serious kick that lingers perfectly without masking the flavor of the food. It’s been amazing on everything from noodles to eggs!
