Fun and Simple for Beginners
This melodica was a breeze to start playing, even with no experience. It sounds surprisingly good and comes with everything you need, including a nice case and different mouthpiece options. I liked the flexibility of playing with the tube or directly. The keys feel a bit plasticky, but for the price, it’s a solid starter instrument.

A nice entry-level instrument
My five star rating is based on the price. If you are looking to learn this novel instrument, this is a great place to start. Entry level instruments can be a gamble. You typically have to pay a decent amount just to get something reliable, and a lot of beginners fail because their instruments are just so bad. This is a decent entry-level hooter, and I'm happy I made the purchase. It doesn't necessarily feel like a high quality instrument, but it sounds decent when you actually play it. It's in key, and it has a good volume. I've played one other hooter. It was a Hammond that was considerably more expensive, but the differences were pretty apparent. The Hammond had a spit valve, which is something this one lacks. Also, I was able to figure out how to bend notes with the Hammond, though it was more difficult than a harmonica. I haven't been able to figure that out with this melodica, though I have developed a way to compensate by doing quick hammer-ons when a bend is desired. For someone like me who might perform one song with this instrument down the road a ways, those two issues are not deal breakers. The third issue isn't a dealbreaker, either, but it is the one thing that I really do wish the instrument could do better. Blowing chords takes a considerable amount more effort if you want to keep the same volume as the rest of the melody. For a novice player, you might not even notice. Heck, most novice players probably aren't even playing chords. I've learned a few songs on this, but the one song I bought it for is a fairly simple note progression that has a couple of chords thrown in. You have to be careful to hit those chords just right or they will sound really weak. I am learning to get better that that, but the Hammond I played produced chords beautifully without really any extra effort. The Hammond melodica I'm comparing this to retails for $550. I believe it is the "top of the line" model, and it is made for performances. It even has a jack to hook it into an amplifier. This model is $30. If you're learning the instrument, this is a no-brainer. If you already know the instrument, then you're probably not reading this review.

Bought this for my kid who is in band. He’s always picking it up and jamming just for fun. Would recommend.

Superb quality for price
I have played more expensive melodicas than this one in a variety of musical groups, so I was pleased to try it at such a low price. For just $15.98 I got an instrument that compared well against more expensive models, going up to over $30. Both my daughter and I liked this one better than her $35 model. It has an excellent tone quality, resonance, and response. By that I mean its tone is almost as beautiful and almost as full as the $100 melodica that I play. And it speaks quickly, especially compared to other lower-priced models. Like most melodicas it is tuned slightly sharp and I believe this may be intentional, since accordions sometimes are tuned that way for standing out in an ensemble. It did have some notes that were out of tune but not many; and in this price range they all seem to...which is why I would consider the instruments in this price range "introductory" and still give it a 5 star rating. The instrument came with 2 tubes, 2 short pipe mouthpieces, and wipe cloths. I could imagine performing on this introductory instrument. It is resonant, quick to respond, and fun to play. Excellent value for the price.

Cheap and excellent
This melodica is great! I bought this melodica at an even cheaper price than my previous one. This melodica is also really great and easy for beginners because it has the "do-re-mi" notes above the keys. When I opened the package, the product had some chemical smell but it got better after a while. The product came with the bag, 2 long pipe mouthpieces, 2 mouthpieces, and a small cloth. My product didn't come with the user manual like it stated in its product description, which is a shame because I wanted to see if there was anything different about this melodica or if there was anything new. But overall, this is a pretty good product and all the keys make the right sound.

If you already know how to play a keyboard instrument you'll pick this right up
Melodicas are a great instrument for noodling around, and this particular one will suit a musician well for a very reasonable price. I found the tone was very pleasing and dynamic. Unlike some reviewers I did not find it difficult to play two or three note chords. While the hand strap is a little tight (my hands are medium size; forget it if you have large hands!), the instrument is easy to carry and play. The two "snorkel" mouthpieces make it easy to lay this melodica on a table and experiment, and the two different short mouthpieces allow the traditional playing position. This instrument does have a moisture release key (a.k.a. "spit valve"), and I found the intonation to be well tempered and generally accurate. At under 50, this is a good value!

L'instrument est juste et fonctionne bien. Le son est agréable. Peu de nuances de volume. Un point faible, dès que vous jouez en accord, il faut souffler beaucoup plus fort, mais c'est un défaut commun à tous les mélodica.
