Rambling Oat Company Fully Cooked Steel Cut Oatmeal (8 Pouches) - Just Heat and Eat - Quick Instant Breakfast Packets (Original Classic)

I bought a pack of this at the grocery store because it was on sale and im so glad I did. The packets are easy to bring along ro work. I top them with some nuts and it makes for a very satisfying meal. I see others have mentioned a slimy texture bit I have enjoyed the texture of these and don't find them slimy at all. I do agree that the texture is different from when I make steel cut oats at home, but for me, it's just different - not better or worse. This is the most valuable breakfast find I've had in a long time! And low calorie, to boot.

We seriously love this stuff. It is the ultimate in convenience. We are pretty busy people so we don't really have the time to make steel cut oats in the morning or often the foresight to do it the night before. With these though, it doesn't matter. We know they're in the pantry or even easy enough to keep in my desk at work when I forget a lunch or need an afternoon snack. You can heat it right in the pouch. Now, I would consider these steel cut oats a blank canvas. Obviously people have different tastes, so we love that we can add whatever we want and totally control the sugar or fat added for whatever our specific goals are that day. Sprinkling cinnamon sugar on it is a favorite around here. Also dropping in some raisins and little maple syrup ain't bad either. And if you're at work, with no fancy ingredients to add, straight out of the pouch works too. Overall they are so simple and we consider it a pantry staple.

I love how easy and convenient this is for breakfast. Unlike other reviewers I never find it slimy and I do enjoy the nutty flavor of it. I do find it doesn't quite warm up in one minute (more like 70-75 seconds). With raisins or bananas it's delicious. Barely needs any sweetener. So good!

I love this product (purchase the original recipe) and add berries to make a nice breakfast. Have nearly every weekday. However, check around before you purchase through Amazon. I buy lots of packets at my grocery store (Raley's) in California for only $1.99 a packet. Through Amazon you're paying $2.24 per packet. Cook according to package directions. Let stand for a minute or so. No mushy at all.

It is the best of all the prepared or instant oatmeal on the market. It's tasty, easy to heat and has a hint of sweetness that sets it apart from the rest...no pots to wash, just put it in a bowl, microwave for 1i minute, add your favorite fruit ( I like it with blueberries, cinnamon and a little vanilla almond milk)..it's a great way to start the day.

This is on me as I failed to read the ingredient list. Because they use WATER (the first ingredient) the “steel cut oats” get mushy. This is NOT why people eat steel cut oats. I don’t want my oats mushy. Secondly, I prefer my oats made with milk or cream, plus lots and lots of cinnamon. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with this awful product until it runs out, 11 breakfasts from now. Yuck. ON FURTHER REFLECTION,I’M THROWING BOTH BOXES AWAY AND GIVING THEM TO A FOOD PANTRY UN-FREAKING-EDIBLE.

I love the convenience of this product. Excellent flavor and thickness and just so easy to use. Unfortunately it has not been available lately and may not come back into stock which is disappointing!

Steel Cut oats normally take a while because you have to soak them and cook them etc. This is 1 minute in the microwave and it tastes fresh. I added bananas and craisins with a little honey and hmmm. Will be putting on subscribe n save.
