Works just as advertised!
i replaced the original lid on a gallon can of paint I bought at Home Depot with this lid. It fit just as snugly as the original lid, and it works fine. I remember I had to study the spout for a bit before I figured out just how to deploy it, but don't let that deter anyone from buying this lid. It was a small thing and I DID figure it out!

This is a great idea, however there are a few things that ...
I currently do a lot of priming and painting due to remodeling my house and specifically painting kitchen cabinets. This is a great idea, however there are a few things that come up a bit short about this product. The cap spout feels like it is going to tear at some point due to the way the cap is secured. It is thin plastic. This lid fit my primer can perfectly, however as others have mentioned it actually doesnt fit my regular paint cans perfectly. I used some tape and it has held up fine. Other than that, it has served the purpose i wanted. Getting paint out of the can is easier, and i don't need to use a pour spout which is another thing to wash. I also wasted less paint. I do a lot of small batches, so opening and closing paint cans had become a chore. This has made things much easier in that respect. I am on my 2nd batch of cans for these lids, so hopefully these last a few more cans. Regardless it is a time saver if you aren't using a whole paint can at once and for me that is worth the price.

Good Paint Pour Lid!
The lid work on gallon of paint so that as I used I pour into Small paint can with handle. When you poured in small container there no paint waste or cleanup which is very nice. Still have to take the lid off each day to stir the paint.

Poor Design
Although I had no paperwork with the unit, I was able to figure it out. The cover was difficult to remove initially. I found the inner ring in the spout and proceeded to pull it out. With some difficulty I was able to fully pull the spout out. I found it even more difficult to push it fully back in. With the spout fully extended there was no clear entry for the paint to enter it. It was sealed by a plastic wall. I decided to pull the plastic inner ring with all my strength and hope that the spout would open before the ring broke off. Well, neither happened. There was still no entry way for the paint to flow and the ring extended to twice its normal size. The Seller was responsive to my dilemma but was unable to correct the situation. Bad investment on my part. I don't understand those 4 and 5 star reviews. Am I missing something here?

Glad I bought it but needs some improvements
As many have said before me the issue with this thing is the spout. 1) Easy enough to break/cut the red pull rings. 2) I found it easy to flip the lid and push the blue spout out from below. 3) Unscrew the red cap. So far so good. 4) Pull the blue plastic ring to open the spout. 5) Pull harder on the blue plastic ring. 6) Break one side of blue plastic ring. 7) Break other side of blue plastic ring and punch self in chin. 8) Grab remaining nub of blue plastic ring with lineman pliers and pull on it like Iโm a teenager again. Victory. This blue plastic ring could easily serve as a BOP on an offshore oil rig and I really donโt understand why it is even manufactured with it. โHey, we built it with a pull ring just so you can remove it and throw it away. Figured some unnecessary frustration would get the creative cursing off to a fast start!โ Other than that I think itโs aces.

Very convenient and a great product!
I have used these for several years. Saves paint and with much less of a mess. Works well with small jobs. Pour out what paint you need in a container, then tighten cap and collapse the spout. My local hardware store no longer carries these, so I'm glad I found them here.

BEST BEST BEST
I love these lids. No drips. Perfect seal. Re-usable maybe four or five times depending on if I leave it on a can for a year at a time. Also, the pop-up feature wears out but I just leave it up all the time. So clean.

Like it! wish it was cheaper.
Best idea for using paint and keeping the can clean. Works better than the rubber shur-line lid by fitting better - goes right on like the original can lid. I use to buy 1 for every paint job I did and switched it from can to can. But that's when I could find it a the local hardware store at less than two dollars. 9 bucks? Still worth it, but I don't throw it out when I'm done - clean it.
