I was looking for an easy-to-use engraver to label my water bottle, headphone case, Kindle, and other items. This tool has worked well on plastics, metals, and wood, delivering great results. You can see in the picture where I wrote "test." While it's not as powerful as a Dremel (which I also like), it offers a level of finesse that allows me to engrave fine, small text without damaging the item. Overall, it works very well for my needs, though I’m not sure if I’m using it to its full capacity. The engraver comes with a spare head, an Allen key to lock the head, and templates that could be useful if needed. For the price, it's a great tool!

This was surprisingly easy to use. Read directions. TIP: Make sure the tip is inserted all the way in the engraver before screwing it tight.Make sure the screw that holds it is very loose, and the tip may seem to be all the way in, but press harder and it will snap further in. Otherwise when you turn the engraver on the tip will blast off to the other side of the room, your cat will chase it, grab it and take off. You'll spend time chasing the cat, trip over a rug and before you know it, you are in the ER. Just saying.... But, very easy to hold like a pencil, very easy to engrave. Excellent tool!

Great product, but one small issue ... The directions say to loosen and tighten the tip release screw with a flathead screwdriver, but it actually requires a hex wrench. A hex wrench is even supplied with the tool, so it's a very weird mistake in the directions. It only wasted some time to find a tiny eyeglass-size screwdriver and try it enough times to realize it wasn't going to work, so it's not at all an issue that should affect your decision to buy what is a great little tool for a reasonable price. It's just something to be aware of to avoid wasting time before getting to work.

Tool works great. My only complaint is the provided hex tool. It was round on both ends. You will need your own.
