Ideal weight at about 1 lb., unsheathed. Rufus said it weighed 16.8 ounces unsheathed, while my scale with fresh batteries read 14.9 ounces--both Rufus and my scale have a great track record so I am calling it a pound. This blade will be extremely durable due to the ~4mm thickness at the top of the blade, closest to the quillon. The finish is clean, smooth, and very faintly, consistently brushed. I can only see this under a lit magnifying glass. The feel is of ideal balance and comfort on a soft, but not too soft non-slip handle--just right. The sheath is very strong, with 3 rivets in the right places with a hard, strong plastic insert that fully accommodates the entire blade to the tip. A buttoned strap firmly secures the knife in the sheath over the quillon. When unbuttoned, there is enough friction to hold the blade in the sheath when held upside-down by the tip of the sheath, even with the blade ~75% removed. The serrated top is a nice feature for sawing. The edge was sharp enough to slice through paper but not go straight through, like I like. A slice meaning the blade isn't going straight into the paper squarely but being drawn over across the paper--this is typical from my experience with most new knives. It is sharp, but I will have it sharpened professionally because this knife is worthy of it. On the outside of the sheath side against the leg are two cylindrical, Velcroed compartments that securely hold the blade sharpener and the fire starter. This is everything I wanted in a bowie, exactly how I wanted it, and I am shocked at the incredibly low price I paid for it. This is one of the best bargains for a high-quality product I have ever encountered on Amazon, and I have shopped here and bargain-hunted for years. This is an easy five-star product to me. If I had paid 6 times the price I paid, it will still be a five-star product, and I would be very pleased. People don't believe me when I tell them what I paid.

This seems like a lot of knife for a low price. Decent survival or Decent bug out bag item I think. Sharp. Full tang which matters. Has sharpener and fire starter. The sheath is surprisingly good with plastic slot and knife doesn’t instantly destroy the sheath as with many other inexpensive knives. At a minimum it is pretty cool looking.

I bought 2 of them. The first one was flawless, was surprised at the perceived quality, also was much larger then I had imagined, very sharp, no dings, great ! I liked it so much I ordered another for myself, no dings very good but I will need to sharpen it, no biggie, I would recommend, we’ll see how they perform with use.

Received the blade, it does appear to be full tang. The knife is impressive, especially for the money, and the sheath is also pretty impressive. The knife definitely needed sharpened out of the box, and once that happened, this thing would be a fantastic hunting or camping knife and companion. Fantastic price for this product. Can't speak to the durability, and I have a feeling that it won't keep an edge real well, but that can be remedied by running it through a knife sharpener a few times. I'm only giving 4 stars rather than 5 because it was supposed to come with 1 flint/firestarter and 1 sharpener. Instead, what I got was 2 sharpeners. When I contacted Amazon customer service about it, they wanted to do either a refund or a return and replacement. It wasn't worth it to me to send back a product and get another one when the Flint That was supposed to come with it was so cheap to begin with. That's way too much work for me when I already completed my part of the bargain - paying for the product. So, unfortunately, I'm leaving four stars rather than five. The only other negatives that I see might be that the strap on the sheath could get frayed or sliced by a sharpened knife when pulling it out or putting it back in, and you might want to run a file over the teeth on the back so that it would actually saw wood or cut bone. Overall, this is a fantastic deal, especially if their packing department would ensure that they are sending the correct stuff. Don't hesitate to buy this product. Maybe it would be worth it for you guys to issue a return for an extremely cheap flint. I'll just buy one at Walmart.

Very nice knife .

I just got it today and found this knife is SOLID. It feels like it's built to last and do the job. The handgrip is comfortable in your hand and I especially like the fact that it's a full tang knife. The blade is one solid piece from tip to butt. When you handle it you know you have a solid, hefty piece of steel in your hand. And best of all it's made in America, Huntersville, N. Carolina. It shows you don't have to pay a fortune to get a good quality blade.

Really solid feeling knife for the price. Blade feels good and strong and rubber handle feels really good. Hilt feels good also.
