More than impressed
I haven't written many reviews for products, though I've been an Amazon customer for many years, but every once in a while a product is purchased that exceeds my expectations by such a degree, that I find it worth my time to place a review. This would be one of those products.I've been a police officer for approximately 20 years for a large department. Throughout the years, I have purchased different products to help improve the way I do my job. I've been waiting patiently to see if my department would acquire body cameras, and I reached a point where I didn't want to wait any longer. After doing extensive research through Amazon and online, I kept coming back to this camera. The relatively large number of positive reviews kept drawing me back even though I had never heard of the brand. When a coworker purchased the camera, and I got to hold it in my hands, I felt that it was made with quality and durability and warranted a purchase.I've used the camera for approximately 1 week and already I can say with certainty this camera has helped me immeasurably. The reports I'm required to document are more accurate, I have more evidence to present, and it provides a level of transparency to the public that will hopefully begin to instill trust. The packaging of the camera was better than I expected. Inside of the box was the camera equipped with a well-made rotatable clip, a second epaulet clip which I doubt I'll use, a docking station, a USB cable which plugs from the dock to a computer, a wall plug which can connect to the USB to plug into a 110 wall plug, and a cigarette adapter so the camera can be charged while in the vehicle.Upon removing the camera from the box, the quality is immediately noticeable. Made of rugged plastic and rubber, I have no doubt this camera will continue to function even if dropped. I haven't dropped mine, and hope not to, but I'm confident little would happen if I did. The clip that was equipped to it is also high quality. The clip can rotate 360 degrees, clicking every 30 degrees or so, and has a good spring and teeth built into the clip to keep it secured throughout the day. I have not had the camera move once or fall off while using it, due to the excellent securement. The size of the camera is a little larger than a GoPro and is at the maximum of what I would consider an acceptable size. The weight of the camera I have found to be a non-issue.When I was looking for a camera, the size, quality, weight, resolution, and importantly, the battery all were considered. The camera itself is also great. In order to limit how much data it's using, I keep the camera on the second to lowest setting. The resolution options are as follows:720x480848x480 30p848x480 60p1280x720 30p1280x720 60p1440x1080 30p1920x1080 30p2304x1296 30pI find that even at the second to lowest setting, the quality is excellent for what I need. The video isn't grainy, I can clearly read license plates, see ID's, etc. I don't find it necessary to go to a higher resolution.Audio is also excellent. There is a built in microphone that picks up audio amazingly well. Even with traffic going by at freeway speeds, I can clearly hear what people are telling me on playback. I do recommend playing the content back on a computer with earbuds to get it even more clear, but I'm definitely not disappointed in the microphone. The camera also has a speaker that can play back content on the LCD screen located on the back of the device. This speaker is plenty loud, and I have to keep it at one of the lower settings. The 2" TFT-LCD screen is also great. I didn't think I'd use it, but I have found myself playing back traffic stops upon completion to double check what someone told me and it's been extremely useful. On the right side of the device are four buttons. The bottom button starts and stops video recordings, the button above takes pictures, the button above records audio only, and the top button flags files as important. On the left side of the drive are a USB port, Mini HDMI port, AV port, and Out port for a headset.I've utilized the camera option a couple of times and don't find it as impressive as the video. That may be as a result of the resolution I have it set at. When photos are needed, I'll reach for my cell phone, take the shot(s), upload the images to my work, and remove them from my phone. It's hard to beat the resolution of modern cell phones, and this camera I don't find to be comparable. Again, that is likely due to the resolution I have it set at. I don't want to have to switch from one resolution to another as I switch between video and images, so I'll likely not use the camera function. As far as the audio only, I haven't used that option yet. But based on the microphone recordings of video, I have no doubt the audio only will be excellent.Battery life has been great. They claim that you can record 10 consecutive hours. That's a claim I cannot confirm nor deny. I tend to power on the device prior to making a traffic stop, and turn it off at the conclusion of the stop. As such, I'm making the battery last longer. I have had it on for periods of over an hour at a time and I saw I had plenty of battery left at the end of shift. So I believe this camera's battery will more than suffice for my needs.Uploading the data off of the camera is extremely easy. Place the camera on the dock, plug it into a computer, and it recognizes the camera as an external hard drive. Simply play the videos directly, or drag them onto the hard drive of your computer. Also, when reviewing video footage directly on the 2" screen, there is an option to delete individual files or all of them. This makes it nice when you've transferred your videos to your computer and want to wipe them off of the camera. When I consider what I paid for the camera and how beneficial it's been already, this purchase is a no brainer. My only regret is I didn't buy it sooner. I'll provide updates on this product as I continue to use it to see if it remains reliable or becomes defective, but so far, I couldn't be happier.

Great body camera MANY options to choose from!
I think this body camera is GREAT for the price they're asking! while it has I.R. (infrared) to help you see in utter and complete blackness (well, if you're looking at the camera's rear 2" LCD monitor, that is) It has great video, and (I think) great sound, as well! While I was playing around with it when I first got it, (it seems so intuitive, if you're familiar with action cameras and how they work, you'll figure it out quickly, without needing the instructions) I figured out how to set the time, turn off the (somewhat annoying) beeps, (after I tried to turn them down; yes, there is a volume control too!) as well as set the (somewhat dim) white L.E.D. light to turn on when you hit the button at the top, (I don't think it's set to turn on by default when you press the button) and thought that was it! Turns out you can set the I.R. lights to automatically turn on when it senses it's too dark. Here are all the settings you can change/alter to your liking: 1) For video resolution, you can have 848x480 60P 16:9/ 848x480 30P 16:9/ 720x480 30P 4:3/ 1280x720 30P 16:9/ 1280x720 60P 16:9/ 1440x1080 30P 16:9/ 1920x1080 30P 16:9/ and 2304x1296 30P 16:9. 2) For pictures, you can have 5M (3008x1688 16:9)/ 8M (3456x1944 16:9)/ 10M 4384x2466 16:9)/ 12M (4608x2592 16:9)/ 16M (5336x3000 16:9)/ 20M (5960x3352 16:9)/ 21M (6144x3456 16:9)/ 23M (6480x3648 16:9)/ 25M (6664x3752 16:9)/ 28M (7056x3968 16:9)/ 30M (7304x4104 16:9)/ and 32M (7600x4275 16:9). 3) Burst Mode (For Photos) can either be OFF,2,3,5,10,15,or 20 4) Self Timer (for photos) can either be set to Off/5 seconds/or 10 seconds 5) Continuous Shooting (again for photos) can be set to either Off/ 5 seconds/ or 10 seconds 6) Quality (of video) can be set to S.Fine/ Fine/ or Normal 7) Pre-Record (not sure about this) can be set to either On or Off 8) Post-Record (not sure about this either) can be set to either Off/ 5 seconds/ 1 minute/ or 10 minutes. 8) Car DV Mode (self explanatory) can either be on or off 9) Loop Recording (again, self explanatory) can be set to either on or off 10) Split Time (length of your clips in minutes) 3/ 5/ 10/ 15/ 30/ 45 11) Slideshow (for photos) on or off 12) Infrared (for night vision) either manual/ auto/ or off 13) White L.E.D. (control the light with the top switch) on or off 14) Motion Detect (to turn on recording when movement is sensed) on or off 15) Record Warning (self explanatory) on or off. 16) GPS (Global Positioning System) on or off 17) Timezone (not entirely sure) 18) Language (self explanatory) 19) Screen Saver off/ 30 seconds/ 1 minute/ 3 minutes/ 5 minutes 19) L.C.D. Brightness (the brightness of the L.C.D. screen on the body cam) low and high 20) Auto Power Off (turns the unit off if there is no activity within the allotted time) off/ 30 seconds/ 1 minute/ 3 minutes/ 5 minutes. 21) Key Tone (self explanatory) on or off 22) Volume (volume of the key tones in # 21) 0-12 23) Password (do you need to enter the password everytime you want to view the footage? Useful if you don't want your footage erased) on or off. You can't shut off the loud 'greeting' sound it makes when you first turn the camera on, so I hope you're not hiding when you activate it! All in all, this is a good, reliable (if not a bit heavy) body cam and will fulfill all your needs, but will NOT stop a bullet for you!P.S. Once I figure out how to do split screen video with my editing software, I will post a video showing the day AND night action of this camera!
