I'm happy with it. Ryobi is my go to for cheap occasional use tools. While I would say that this tool definitely falls into that category, it seems solidly build and I had no problems with it during a demolition project where it saw several days of hard use. Make sure to get a battery that is at least 3AH, it draws a lot of current. It only has one con for me. The trigger weight is excessive. I have never had this problem with a tool before so I don't think it's me. My trigger finger got quite tired using it. Kind of annoying when you think about how it's just a spring which could have been set to any weight. Side note about the batteries. Powertool batteries are very marked up, so I went with an aftermarket. I fly drones so I have tools which can measure the capacity, and I found out the hard way that almost all no-name aftermarket Ryobi batteries on amazon are falsely labeled. I bought 3.8AH batteries. That would have been sufficient, but I measured them and they were only 1.2Ah! That was mostly certainly not enough. The saw would go through one in like 5 minutes. I eventually bought "8Ah" batteries (which were actually 3). These worked well. Buyer beware if you that route.

Tool works well with my existing battery system and has plenty of power for cutting thru a variety of materials. The unit accepts blades i already had from an electric version.

Bought this for my 85 year-old father. He loves it.

Sounds a joke, but a Ryobi reciprocating saw fell onto my yard. Unsecured in someone's truck or trailer I guess. Set it closer to the curb figuring the owner might look for it. A week later I moved it to my garage. Later still, looked at it wondering what battery it uses? Surprised that was the same a a drill I had. Cool! Tried the tool, found that though it appeared to have "lived a hard life," it worked well. Used it on many demolition projects plus trimming small branches with it. That was several years back. Flash forward, now in a different state, house, had a plumbing project to do, found the well-used Ryobi had a frozen chuck. Rather than bother with taking it apart to attempt a repair, I ordered a $50 replacement from Amazon. Works very well. Sawed some cast iron drain pipe and some PCV schedule 40 pipe. Easy enough. Should have years of good service ahead.

i JUST NEEDED THE SAW AS MINE DIED AFTER A FEW YEARS. DESIGN IS GOOD, WISH BATTERY LIFE WAS BETTER, ONLY NEEDED SAW. LIGHT WEIGHT BUT CUT PIPE AND PLASTIC PRETTY EASILY.

I got this to do a sprinkler/drainage system repair. I have since used it on a variety of other thigs. It's very versatile, durable, light weight, uses the same battery as my other Ryobi tools and is long lasting.

Got this for my husband for our anniversary. He loves it and said it works way better than his first one. Very satisfied with Ryobi products 😊

Just what I needed. My 25 year old ryobi bit the dust, so this worked well as a replacement.
