The good stuff for pros or classes who want to use pro ink
Beautiful, economical, professional, matte, rewets if dries on palette and can even be removed from plastic palettes. Behaves like oil soot, stays put on paper after it dries, good for Xieyi as it as a very black black, also good for Gongbi as it will not dissolve when washed over with other colors. only slightly satiny if used pure. Red Star also makes a glossy black for shiny insect legs, and a vermillion, be sure you buy the right one. I am reviewing the one with the plain white label background and the white caps with spout. Highly recommend for chinese painting or calligraphy work. Arrives fast.

Disclaimer: First ink I've ever bought and used so I'm got no experience to compare with other inks. Pros: Personally, it's pretty good! Very smooth and easy to work with. Cons: The smell is quite pungent... Not overpowering, but is noticeable.

Good, has a nice smell too, not a chemical smell. Have I ordered too many? Ha I have pretty much used all calligraphy ink from amazon store (see my purchase history), this REDSTAR is the best so far, natural smell, not irritating at all, not like some I can't sit by it for 5 minutes. It is a bit expensive, but worth the health if you use ink everyday. I order three more today. The only thing could be improved is the thickness and glow, a bit more will be nicer.
