Excellent Configurability!
I am thrilled with how these remotes can be configured to work. I got the set with 3 outlet controllers and a remote that has 5 sets of on/off buttons. I later added a fourth outlet controller to the set. I originally bought it to control a lamp across the room at night. However, after getting it, I decided to use it for three other lamps I have as well. Now I have everything set up to any combination I could ever want!On/Off Buttons 1 - lamp 1On/Off Buttons 2 - lamp 2On/Off Buttons 3 - lamp 3On/Off Buttons 4 - lamp 4On/Off Buttons 5 - lamp 1, 2, 3, and 4 simultaneouslySo not only can I turn each lamp on and off individually, but I can turn all the lamps on and off as a set! It doesn't matter what button I used to turn them on. Even if I turn on the lamps individually, I can easily press the Off Button 5 to turn off all the lamps at once! I love this! The instructions were not very detailed as to how to configure the remote control. It's actually very easy. So let me include some basic instructions on how to program the outlet controllers with the remote control. To pair an outlet controller with a remote:'(1) Plug the outlet controller into the wall socket.'(2) Press and hold the learning button until a light begins to flash, then let go.'(3) Press the button on the remote that you want to control the outlet controller. That's it! So simple! Repeat the steps above for any remote button you want. Each on and off button works independently so you can configure it any way you want. You can pair any button on the remote to any outlet controller, even if the button has already been paired with another outlet controller. For example, if you want the On Button 5 to control two outlets, simply repeat the steps above for each one. You don't have to do them together. Just do them like normal. Then when you press the On Button 5, both outlets will come on!Canceling a pairing requires that you reset the outlet controller. It's also very easy to do.To reset an outlet controller (cancel all pairings) so that no remote button will control it:'(1) Remove the outlet controller from the wall socket.'(2) Press and hold the learning button.'(3) While still holding the learning button, plug the outlet controller back into the wall socket.'(4) Continue to hold the button for 5 seconds or until the light begins to flash, then let go.'(5) Once the light stops flashing, the outlet controller has been reset. The only drawback I can find is that you cannot plug two outlet controllers into a wall outlet due to their size. You can, however, plug the outlet controller into the top wall outlet and still use the bottom outlet as normal. I don't find this to be a big problem.I wish I had found these long ago. I am certain I will be buying more!UPDATE: I did buy more! I added another lamp to the room so I bought another outlet controller. I now have the remote control managing all four lamps. I could not be happier with this product!

Better than other similar products
Works really well. Push a button and lights come on. Simple and easy. Good range. I have another one of these, a Stanley model, does the same thing but not as well. With that model you only get 3 plugs (for around the same price, at the time I bought it anyway) you have to hold the button down for a few seconds before it clicks on, you have to aim it in the direction of the plug, and the range is very limited compared to the ZAP model. I highly recommend these. I like that you can add to them too if you decide you want more too.Edit:Some ways to improve this product - - a surge protector of some kind should be installed in the plug. I know they give you ratings of what it can handle. But I had an AC plugged into it for months and it worked fine. Was in the limits supposedly. Then all of a sudden it died. I thought the plug just wore out so I plugged in a new one. Died immediately. Not sure why. I plugged the AC into the lesser Stanley model I mentioned before and it's been working fine. It's not cool that you plug in the Etekcity ones and if it can't handle it then the whole plug is blown and you have to buy a new one. There should be a surge protector and a reset button.- These are pretty bulky. A rotating plug would be an improvement. A bigger improvement would be a small extension, even just 5-6 inches, so you can fit more of them on a surge protector. Also, customer service has been extremely great. Very helpful. Above and beyond.

Easy add on outlet
Got my Etekcity 3 outlet set in 2016.Had 4 open spaces plus an 'All On & Off'Wanted to add one outlet & saw I had an option to just get outlet with no remote. So I took a chance that an outlet made in 2019, would be compatible with a set made in 2016.It was. And it was as simple to hook up as my original set.Comes with directions & seconds later, Volia, I had my 4th outlet on one remote.Love Etekcity. If you're not a 'Smart' home fan & just want a simple remote you can click anywhere and, turn a living room light off from the bedroom, you'll love Etekcity too.

These things are great for remotely turning things on and off
These things are awesome. Low tech, does not take up a spot on our router, does not require Bluetooth. Have to deal with a small remote but they work ever time and are cheap cheap cheap! I have wired multiple receivers to one circuit on the remote and can light up my living room and entrance hall with one button or individually based on spots on the remote. I have even used these outside to light up deck lights. I put them in a zip lock bag and poke the prongs through the ziplock to plug them in so they stay dry. Have been working that way outside for two plus years.Oh, and old people love them. My wife's parents were dying to know where we got these. However, they were not interested in traveling to South America to get them....... Okay, that's a joke boy....some old people don't know what Amazon is and once one thought I was referring to the Amazon in South America

Love the convenience!
These outlets work great! I have four total and they all work perfectly, every time, from one end of the house to the other, about 90 feet. I have one remote in the living room and the other on my night stand. Now I always remember to turn on my large and somewhat noisy air cleaner in the living room as I go to sleep at night from my bed. I like being able to turn on a 9 watt LED light centrally located near the hallway that lights up enough of the house to get around if I have to get up at night. The fourth outlet, bought separately, was too easy to program, just press the button on the side of the outlet and press the button on the remote you want it to work on, Done! I even use one to run a small quite fan that blows on my bed at night ( about 8 feet away ) and now I can be lazy and not even have to lift my head to turn it off if it gets too cold in the middle of the night!
