Wide-Toebox, high arches, love them!
The first thing I notice with Altras is the FootShape toe box. It actually gives my toes room to spread naturally without feeling sloppy or loose, which makes a huge difference on longer runs. A lot of other brands claim to have “wide” options, but they still feel cramped compared to Altra’s design. The arch support works really well for me. My feet feel secure and stable, but not forced into an unnatural shape. Combined with the balanced zero-drop platform, the shoes encourage a more natural stride and keep me from getting the aches I used to feel in my knees and hips after piling on miles. Durability is another strong point. I average about 20 miles per week, and my past Altras have held up far better than I expected. The cushioning doesn’t pack down quickly, and the uppers stay supportive even after months of wear. These already feel like they’ll give me the same reliable performance. Comfort-wise, I can put them on and head straight out for a run without a long break-in period. The lightweight build and responsive cushioning make every mile enjoyable, whether it’s a short recovery jog or a longer training run. Overall, Altra has become my go-to brand because they simply fit feet like mine the way running shoes should. If you’ve got wide feet, high arches, or just want a shoe that lets your foot move naturally, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Buy them before they are gone.
I have six pairs of these exact men’s shoes. I keep ordering them before they are no longer available that’s how much I love them. I had plantar fasciitis for two years in both feet I’m 80 years of age now. I’m completely healed now by the miracle exercises of a Dr. Angela Walk and wearing the proper shoes. I wear barefoot Xero shoes around the house and going out, and these shoes on my 4 mile walk each day. I’m so thankful for these for they are extremely comfortable and give me room for my toes . I also had a pair of escalante 4’s not bad but prefer these. I’m extremely thankful for these shoes they played a big part in my recovery. Don’t want to mislead anyone the shoes won’t fix it alone the exercises also were a tremendous help.

Great everyday shoe!
I wear a 11.5 in Altra, 12 in OC, and 11.5 in Nike. I love Altra the most because of the wide toe box. I’ve had these shoes for 10 months or so. I wear them to work 12+ hours a day (I’m a Murse -male nurse) and I am running around all day. These shoes fit great, feel great and the quality is pretty good for 10 ish months of constant wear. Granted I am indoors majority of the time hence why the tread isn’t completely gone. Walking and running ability, I recommend these because they are comfortable. They breathe enough and the color has held up over time with me cleaning and wiping them off from with hospital wipes. The heel has started to fall apart and that is sad but still ok. Just gotta wear a higher sock now. Still work great and feel great. I even play pickleball in them!

Great walking shoes; laces are a letdown
I use these shoes for brisk walks. They are incredibly light and very comfortable. Generally good arch support, but I do use a thin insert, which makes them just right for me. Not thrilled with the laces. I have to be diligent to tie the knots about as tight as humanly possible or they may come lose during a walk. I deducted one star for the laces.

Comfortable zero drop shoes with wide toe-shaped front and good cushioning
I recently purchased the ALTRA Men's AL0A7R6M Escalante 3 Road Running Shoe in orange and I'm very impressed with the performance of these shoes. The shoes have a modern and stylish design with a comfortable fit. The shoe is lightweight, making it perfect for long distance runs, and the cushioning provides great support to the feet, making it comfortable for extended use. The shoe is also breathable, allowing my feet to stay cool and dry even during intense workouts. Be aware though, since they are zero-drop, your ankles might initially get a bit sore, but after a few runs this went away! One of the unique features of this shoe is the FootShape toe box, which allows the toes to relax and spread out naturally, improving balance and stability. This feature has really helped me maintain my form during runs and reduced the risk of injuries. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of the ALTRA Men's AL0A7R6M Escalante 3 Road Running Shoe. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable running shoe.

Half sizing after size 12 is great. Durable, at least for me.
My second pair (of the exact same shoes) in a row! Zero drop (from heal to toe) which adjusts every part of your leg physiology - try zero drom if you never have! I take a size 12.5 which fits my feet perfectly. My last pair lasted a full year (walking/standing - used them at least 3 or 4 days / week) . As you've guessed, I love these Altra Esclante 3's.

Sizing Not Quality Controlled
I wanted to love these shoes. I ordered the male version of this shoe because I usually wear a 91/2 womens wide (New balance being my usual go-to for tennis and sometimes runners). The Escalante does not come in women's wide, so i tried the men's 81/2 which should have fit. It was too short, though the width seemed okay. I ordered the 9. It was okay for length but the cut of the width was such that the binding across the width hit exactly at the widest (I have bunions) part of my foot. This is where the shoe has the least amount of 'give' so after wearing it around the house for a few days I had to return them. the foot bed was comfortable and I liked the mesh top. So, shoe runs both short and narrow.

Mein neuer Lieblingsschuh
