Potassium Bicarbonate (an alkaline powder) makes flour rise in the presence of an acid (cream of tartar or buttermilk or ...) to release carbon dioxide, just like sodium bicarbonate (also an alkaline powder.) You do need 50% to 100% more Potassium Bicarbonate compared with sodium bicarbonate, but you up your potassium level to relax your blood vessels. Sowhatstheproblemhere? :-)

It does appear to be a pretty basic chemical that has not as of yet poisoned me. I can hardly blame the company for the taste - they can't fix tongue chemistry.That's just about the most I have the authority to speak on. I take it on faith that this is in fact part potassium and part bicarbonate. It fizzes slightly, so I guess the latter checks out at least.It tastes rotten if you leave it in water for an extended time. It works as an antacid at low doses, just take it quickly and try not to taste it. CaCO is much easier to go down, but you need more of it as it's less basic. So much value! Chemistry! Yes!

Potassium Bicarbonate does a body good.My dentist said that BP medicine was causing dry mouth. Dr. Berg on YouTube said that most people are deficient in potassium and that potassium lowers BP. Therefore I use Potassium Bicarbonate to lower the amount of BP med I am taking, by using a wrist-type BP meter. See Dr. Berg's video for proper use of the potassium. I have reduced BP med by 75% and dry mouth has gone down also.Another trick for reducing BP is 5-6-7 breathing. Do 5 sets of inhaling for 5 seconds, holding for 6 seconds, and exhaling very slowly for 7 seconds or even more. This lowers my BP instantly, and is quite relaxing.

I had no idea this was a leavening agent, it ads potassium to your diet instead of sodium!
