Great device
So easy to set up and have found it really useful for connecting my devices around my home, in particular setting up flows for my smart lights and music.

Nice device, didn't work for me
I purchased this bridge because it was specified as supporting the smart light I had just bought. It discovered the light without issue using Zigbee, but then the Homey app told me that I needed to buy the significantly more expensive Homey Pro (6 times the price of this bridge!) in order to control the light. Returned.

Not worth it, get the Homey Pro instead
Don’t bother with this but save up for the standalone Homey Pro hub instead. Very limited functionality and it relies on a subscription model so internet access is needed all the time.

Awesome device
After using it for a few months, I can confidently say that it has truly transformed my home into a smart and efficient space. The biggest advantages of Homey is its compatibility with a wide range of devices. With ZWave Plus, Zigbee, WiFi, BLE, 433MHz, Infrared, Matter and Thread, it can connect and control almost any smart home device. This means I no longer have to worry about compatibility issues and can easily manage all my devices from one central hub. With Homey Flow, I can create custom flows that allow my devices to work together seamlessly. For instance, I have set up a flow where my lights automatically turn on when I enter a room and turn off when I leave. This not only saves me time but also reduces my energy consumption. Another feature that I love is the real time and historical energy usage tracking. It has helped me become more aware of my energy consumption and make necessary changes to reduce my carbon footprint. I also receive sensor alerts, which keep me informed about any changes or issues with my devices.

Some missing product support and paywalls stop this being my new hub.
I’m a huge fan of home automation and have everything from my lights to my fish tanks, garden discos and my racing rig all connected in some way or another. I took the Homey Bridge | Smart Home Hub for Home Automation in for test and review but sadly hit quite a few issues. Firstly, I was disappointed to have to subscribe to use its features. Any more than 5 devices require a sign up that at that point hadn’t shown me any real reason to have to part with cash monthly. I have roughly 70 devices to connect up and in all honesty, I find my current system provides me with everything this can other than energy usage data which is something I’d rather not see personally. Its an out of sight, out of mind thing. I’ve also not been able to connect some of the smaller, less known brands. I have two lightbulbs in my bedroom for example that had quite a different set up when I got them and I have no way of including them on this system. For me this is a deal breaker. Its designed to have all devices in one place but if I can add them I’m still having to rely on my other system too. The device is nice though, well made and has a small footprint and the user-face within the app is much easier to use than other products in this field. The flow feature in particular is very well designed and easy to understand… but again, that’s behind a paywall. So after all this, the only true feature I could see myself using this for is the positives that come from having all my devices locally rather then relying on the internet connection to the alternative providers servers. The extra abilities when it comes to routines are nice and there are many more options for people who understand coding to get more out of the system but that’s unfortunately beyond me. Overall it’s a nice device and many work well for some. For me… my current system does everything I need it too and see no reason for changing for the time being. It has potential though!

Didn’t pair with any of my devices
Great marketing, for a very expensive eco system, thouh]that I would try the bridge before committing to a massive expenditure to replace many existing hubs, which would be desirable, couldn’t pair the bridge with a single one of my devices.

Very limited support from device manufacturers
I bought this 18 months ago thinking that support for different device manufacturers would grow, but it hasn't. For those that it does support, you can only 'install' a limited subset of their devices. It's shame - if they'd made it more open source, I'm sure the community would have got involved. The potential is great, but it just hasn't matured. They obviously want you to buy the HUGELY expensive Pro version, which has access to a growing community library of devices and services. I'll stick with Smartthings which is improving day-by-day, plus Sharptools.

OK provided your devices are compatible
I'm in the early stages of installing smart devices in my home. This looked to be an ideal hub to keep organised as I introduce additional items. However, there are some niggles. Firstly, I've got to say I like the app. Clear enough for a non-techy like myself to quickly feel confident I'm doing things right. As well as control there's a useful energy usage feature, for example. When coming to connect items I discovered it wasn't as simple as I'd assumed. You can connect up to five products before needing to take out a subscription so I thought I'd start small and assess whether a subscription would be beneficial. My kitchen downlights connected straight away. However, the living room wall lights and music centre just won't pair, even though they are listed as compatible. That's made we wary of continuing with this bridge and buying new devices. As it stands I'm going to research online and see if I can resolve the connection issues before considering adding any new items. A pity, because there's a lot to like. I'll update my review if I succeed in ironing out the connection snags.
