AG Care Liquid Effects Extra-Firm Styling Lotion, 8 Fl Oz

Oh my gosh I love this gel! Now I have a big bottle of it. I have fine, thin hair and this works great to hold curl when I style with a curling iron or other styling hot tool.It’s easy to use and dries fast. I like to air dry my hair so I scrunch it up and let it dry. It’s not hard when it’s dry so I can brush through my hair easily.

I love that this gel is a one and done product for curly hair. It adds moisture and hold to my curls and my curls are left so soft after crunching the scrunch after the gel casts.

I love this product! I use it with other Ag curl products and it works amazing. It’s the best my hair has ever looked. After styling it is soft and has way less frizz and perfect hold.

If you have coarse/dry wavy/curly hair this is a must try! The product is more like a thin gel- not a lotion. I only used it one time and my hair feels and looks amazing! I have been thinking about buying this for some time and my only regret is not trying it sooner. My hair is on the 2b/2c side, coarser and I bleach regularly (thanks to my genetics of gray hair). This product is thin and it has so much slip it just covers your hair without being thick and sticky. I have tried literally almost everything out there and this by far has taken the number one spot. Treluxe, Curlsmith, Inahsi, Mixed Chicks...Harry's, LUS, Curl Talk, Miss Jessies, Carol's Daughter, Ouidad, Jessicurl, Cantu, Mielle, Shea Moisture, all the drug store/walmart brands.. the list goes on-SO MUCH $$$. I am also part of Curls Monthly and have tried almost every product I've received over the past 8 months. I didn't take a pic today but man I should have. It has a very light scent and I am sensitive to smells and my skin is very sensitive and this does not bother me @ all. If you are in the fence TRY it. Will update regarding longevity and include pics. Holy Grail contender definitely 😍

I live in a very humid area where it rains all fall and winter. I struggled when I moved to this location to find the right products to hold my curls but not damage my hair. After some experimenting, I found that I like how this holds my curls, especially when it is raining because it leaves a nice casting on your curls. However, my curls have textures that range from course, thick and unruly to soft and bouncy and I find that I need a product that is slightly thicker than that of AG Care Liquid Effects Extra-Firm Styling Lotion.Final thoughts - It is a great product and I do believe that most people with curls will find it useful for their hair. The environment your curls are around does matter, so experiment with your products with different weather or locations.

I bought this recently with the curl activator as a bit of a splurge. Since I've been going natural with my curly hair I've mostly used drug store brands for my hair. My hair is super fine and needs a lot of hold to keep my curls in place while they dry, this AG gives the product a 5/5 for hold. Compared to other strong hold gels and mousse I've used I would say it's more of a 3/5. With this and the curl activator I start out with pretty defined hair after I've worked them in, but as my hair dries my curls have kind of stretched out and gone a bit limp in places. I also pretty much need a refresh each day after wash day, with my herbal essence mouse I usually don't need a refresh until the third day. The second thing that I was't impressed with is how dull and lifeless my hair looks when I use these products. I've used a lot of gels by the Mane Choice in combination with the herbal essence mouse, and they always leave my hair super shiny and glossy. The color of my hair is much darker with this and kind of looks like it's greasy even if the texture doesn't look greasy, If that makes any sense. I doubt I'll even finish the bottle. I've been experimenting with the curl activator and different products with some really amazing results.If you're looking for a really strong hold gel, I would say skip this one. But I would recommend the curl activator by AG if you're after more definition.
