I've read studies that involve older rats who were given this combination of supplements and how they were more energetic and acted younger than rats who were not given the supplements. I figured this ol' rat may as well try it and it does seem to have a mildly energizing effect on me. This may be because of an antioxidant effect, a blood sugar controlling effect, a placebo effect, or some combination. In any case, I'm on my second bottle and will probably continue purchasing it. I only take one capsule per day as two seemed to make me a touch jittery, possibly because ALA is supposed to lower blood sugar.

I bought this to aid in hair growth after chemotherapy. Sooner than buy the gel, I bought the powder and mixed 1/4 tsp. with moisturiser, rubbed it into my scalp and left it for a half hour. It worked a treat, almost immediately. Be careful though. I used a facecloth and a bit of water to rinse. You do not want to get it into your eyes when you have a shower.
