Standard 1/4"-20 Female to 3/8"-16 Male Screw Adapter Reducer Bushing Converter for DSLR Camera Camcorder Tripod Monopod Ball Head Ballhead Video Light Stand (4 Pieces)

Bought these to use with a 3 Legged Thing (3LT) switch clamp. The clamp is designed to be mounted to a tripod ball head via a 3/8-16 mounting hole. However, I also wanted to use this with an old Velbon tripod that has a standard 1/4-20 mounting screw. These adapters thread into the hole on the 3LT from the top and allow that to happen. The adapter screwed in smoothly to the 3LT and to the Velbon tripod perfectly. These items are chrome-plated steel, NOT stainless steel, so probably not the best selection for continued outdoor use. But they are well-made, certainly work for now and the price was right.

I donno why I needed to buy an adapter so im not going to downvote them just for jouging people but what I dont understand is why they cant just make things in the same size that match up. But the product works nicely I like how it fits flush and doesnt show sticking out at all giving a factory look still as seen in attached picture.

I use it to adapt a small telescope to a tripod designed for cameras. It works wonderfully!

Worked well as advertised, but I did have the first adapter out of the pack I used break inside the 3/8 hole. As I was attempting to unscrew the adapter, the slot used to unscrew it sheared on one side. After freaking out for a minute, I was able to shove a flat-head screwdriver far enough inside to bite into the threads and screw the adapter out, talk about nail-biter. The next one i used worked fine, but I sure as heck wont be putting very much pressure on these in the future.

I was working on a home created solution for a camera/tripod head that would not attach to my good tripod. Before digging out a cutting die, I tried a search for "screw converter" and this turned up. I was a bit shocked. It must be a common issue. This is a perfect solution. I inserted into the converter into the existing hole and the issue was resolved. "Be mart, put down the tool you fool".

I managed to snap one of these adapters in half rather easily while my camera was mounted on the tripod. Thankfully, I caught my camera but now I know that if you do a lot of panning, keep an eye on your kit as it may get a little loose and if finds just a little bit of leverage, it will surely break.
