We've updated our classic ma-1 jacket with a slimmer fit throughout the body and sleeves. Like its counterpart, the ma-1 slim fit has a flight nylon, water-resistant shell with nylon lining and 100 percent polyester fill. The black variation has brass zippers while the other colors have tonal metal zippers. The white variation reverses to a white interior while the rest of the colors have the traditional emergency orange lining. Inspired by the original jackets worn by U.S Air Force and Navy pilots in the 1950’s, the modern cut provides a slim fit. S. air force and navy pilots in the 1950's, the ma-1 slim fit bomber jacket with poly-fill and orange lining is the perfect take on a classic bomber silhouette. The modern cut provides a slim fit.

Slim vs. Regular Fit
Judging by the other reviews, it appears the small sizes run large and the large sizes run small. I'm 6'4, skinny athletic build, so I ordered an XL in this jacket and the regular fit. Included are images of both. In addition to a very slim fit, this jacket also has shorter sleeves than the regular, which were actually perfect for me.The nylon is extremely high-quality, and blocks the wind well. It's also quite warm.I'll be sticking with the slim and returning the regular.

Don’t regret my purchase. Maroon is where it’s at.
Got this to cut down on the original MA-1 jacket poof. I like how the OG looks on others, but as someone who is 5’6” they kind of dwarf me and throw off my proportions.Originally I ordered this in a small because I’m between sizes, but I had to exchange it for a medium. I’m roughly 166lbs at the moment, and I have a slightly larger than average chest. The small was way too tight in the chest, but the medium is “just right”.I will say that even the slim fit is slightly bigger than my Small size H&M MA-1 jacket. Longer arms, too. At least for shorter people. I prefer the fit of that jacket, but only by a slight margin. The Alpha is much better quality overall, though.

Great jacket! Looks awesome
Great jacket! Looks awesome, fits great. Not as bulky as the "regular fit" flight jacket. However, slim fit is more like tight fit. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs and a large was too tight. I couldn't wear the jacket with a hoodie underneath. XL was perfect. Slim, but not so tight that I couldn't wear a hoodie underneath.

175 5' 10" 16/34 shirt 40 Reg Slim suits Jeans 33/32 A large fits fine if you want it just a little loose
These slim fit are about a size smaller than normal.I usually wear a medium in just about everything. 175 5' 10" 16/34 shirt 40 Reg Slim suits Jeans 33/32A large fits fine if you want it just a little loose , but still fitted (just enough to pull a slim hoodie and still have it fitted.)The medium, fits sort of tight (if you want that slim look while wearing a t-shirt) You can pull off a hoodie as well, but its going to be kinda tight and it better be a thin hoodie)In a perfect world I would want one of each. Depends on the look and how you want to wear it more.

A little disappointed !!!
I would have given it five stars because the quality is good. However, I ordered the one with the patches and velcro and I received the one with no patches or velcro. Also, I have a 29 waist and I'm 5'11 I'm a skinny guy, according to the size chart I should order an XS, however, I went with my instinct and ordered a M and the fit is just right. If I would of ordered the XS or S it would of been too small. So be careful with the chart cause is not accurate. One more thing, the one I received is the European Fit one which I think it runs smaller than the non-European. Maybe the size chart is accurate for the non-European version. However, you don't get to choose which one you want, the European or the non-European. Basically, Alpha Industries need to get their act together.

Tried a Medium Slim, but had to go with Medium Regular
Product quality outstanding, zipper a bit stiff and “catchy” going up, but everything else is perfect. I recently lost weight, about 20 lbs, and previously usually wore Larges. Tried a “Slim” and it fit, but too tightly for comfort. I’m now about 5’ 8” tall, with about a 40” Chest and a 34” Waist. Ended up with the Regular Medium cut. The coat length is maybe just 1/2 to 1” longer than I would want for perfection, but still looks and feels VERY nice and trim, with the correct “military” look. I’d buy again - my last Alpha Flight Jacket lasted about 20 years and still looks great, just too large for the “new me”.

Quality Jacket from A I.
This are my first impressions of this beautiful garment, It fits very slim i'm a short person 5'7, 155 pounds and the small t fits just right, little bit long on the sleeves, cuffs are really long but you can fold them actually very comfortable. Not very much room on chest when closed, perfect for wear with t shirts or even with a very thin layer like a sweater or a thermal, its gonna be tight with a thick hoodie, in that case you should go for the medium for more room, also shoulders fit just right too. This is definitively for a slim to normal person type, if you are overweight and have that big belly forget about it you should go for the regular fit. It seems very warm jacket perfect for fall-winter season i might say for the 40-50 degrees will cover you up from those chilly days. It comes with an orange reversible side, gold hardware and sturdy zippers and leather accents. 5 pockets 2 exterior and 2 interior and 1 arm. I am glad they made this slim fit because the regular seems very roomy and not very flattering, thats why i decide to buy this one. Made in China but with US military standards. Comes with the classic red ribbon on arm pocket that you can unmount. The nylon is a super beautiful material seems water and wind resistant. I think this is a lifetime piece that will go with me in my adventures.

Fits Well
I'm 5'4" 115 pounds with a 34 inch chest. I ordered an XS. It fits very well. I used the fit calculator on Alpha's own website. It's not snug on me but is trim. It looks better than my old regular fit MA-1 especially in the arms and shoulders. It's not puffy or baggy on me. It sits just below my belt. The only thing is the sleeves could be half an inch shorter. It causes the cuffs to tunnel inside the sleeves. Other than that it's made well and looks great.

Go for your regular size.
One reviewer said to take a size up from your normal size, I say don't. I bought a large instead of my normal medium and it's too big. Also the discription "The jacket features four hook-and-loop areas that allow for self-expression via patches" isn't true, I've just wasted money on hook-and-loop patches to personalise the jacket but it doesn't come with any. I want to return it and order a medium but I can't find out how.

If you're ordering this then best to take a size up from your normal ma1 ...
If you're ordering this then best to take a size up from your normal ma1 size.Quality as ever is great from Alpha Industries and a much slimmer look than the regular ma1.

Great jacket!
Quite a nice jacket. Great quality. The zipper seems a bit hard to use sometimes and a few might not like the fact that the bottom of the jacket falls just below the belt (as shown on the main pic on the profile). The wrist could also be tighter.I usually wear size M but I've ordered L (after some buyers warnings).I'm 5'11 and 180 lbs. And the fit is just fine! So, size up!Pockets are deep and comfortable. Definitely made for spring, summer, and fall.It will keep you warm for sure.Received it within 2 business days. The red tag (as shown in the pics) might only be included with the blue one (not sure).

High Quality Jacket - Research Your Size
I'm male, 5' 10", 210 lbs, I ordered the XL and it fits me well. It is supposed to be a slim fit so there's not a lot of room for more than a light shirt. If you want to wear a hoodie with this I would recommend going up a size. Also, if you expect to carry things in your pockets you may want to go up a size. I had a pair of gloves in my pocket and it felt like it was at capacity. Overall the jacket is very well made and of good quality.

arm length and everything else was fine but it was just too short so unfortunately
I'm giving it 5 stars despite the fact that I'm returning it. The jacket is is fairly quality, you can tell from the construction of the zipper for example that it should take a beating for years to come. Understanding that this was the slim fit I knew it would fit more snug and it did just that but what I couldn't get over was how short the jacket was. For reference I'm 5'11 and 185lbs, arm length and everything else was fine but it was just too short so unfortunately.
