this is a fantastic book. I've visited Tokyo numerous times
For what it is, this is a fantastic book.I've visited Tokyo numerous times, and even lived in nearby Yokohama for a while. I'm in love with Tokyo, and Japan in general, so I do a lot of shopping - from pop culture goods to more traditional items. As such, I do a lot of shopping in Tokyo when I'm there, and my itineraries are often dictated by what to I want to buy next. I stumbled across Naoki Kokubo's book right after my last trip to Japan (at a Muji store in New York!) and immediately flipped through it. I have visited some of the places (and purchased some of the things!) listed in the book, but certainly not all of them.I think the best recommendation I can give for this book is twofold. First, I first found this book a week after coming back from Tokyo, and it made me want to immediately go back, to site-see and shop. Second, speaking Japanese, I've often been to areas or attractions that many tourists don't see, or don't visit often (Kanda Shrine, mentioned in the book, is a good example). Despite living in the area, I've learned about some great new places from this book.
