How easy is this to assemble?

Very easy. Need power screw driver (do NOT over tighten) for the 3 handle crews. Wrench for the blade assembly. Very light product and does the job. Satisfied customer!!

Are these angled to act like a plow?

This snow pusher is not angled. It is designed for pushing snow more than for shoveling.

Is the d-handle hollow? Because of arthritis in my hands, I like to slip a 2-foot dowel through the handle and be able to use my chest to push it.

yes the D-handle is hollow, may I suggest that you slip a 3/4" dowel through the handle & then get some 3/4" water pipe insulation(the black foam kind) & place over that over the handle as it may possibly work easier for you because of your arthritic hands, good luck Shagbark

Does this shovel have a sharp blade?

I would not say "sharp". I have 3 of them different sizes. They are great for fresh light snows. Do not recommend for ice scraping. Works well on decks and sideways. I have even cleared small lots with my 4ft before pitting down salt
