RokiyaTurning Pizza Peel with Detachable Hardwood Handle，8 inch Aluminum Head，Light and Sturdy, Easy to Clean, Perfect for The Pizza Oven

I bought this to help with cooking pizzas in our new Alfa outdoor pizza oven. Temperatures in the oven can get up to 1,000 degree F, so it's important to have a well built pizza turning peel, especially since the pizzas tend to cook in a minute or two. This requires vigilant turning of the pizza to allow the pizza crust to cook evenly. This peel works perfectly with a good grip from the solid wooden handle. It's just long enough to stand back far enough from the intense heat of the oven, but short enough to handle with dexterity. We bought a more expensive pizza turner, but this has turned out to be my favorite.

We love this pizza peel! It works great with our Ooni Frya 12” pizza oven! Perfect for turning the pizza while in the oven and removing. We use this in conjunction with a bamboo peel that we use to load the pizza into the oven.

My pizza oven has a very low ceiling, and using this turner is difficult for me. I make 12" pizzas, and I think with more overhead room this turner would work well, but for me I think I will be sticking with my previous turner (which looks like a huge offset spatula). I'm able to work my old one in deeper and securely rotate the pizza without lifting it hardly at all. When I tried getting this turner in far enough to support more of the pizza I had issues with the bolts that hold the peel to handle tearing the crust, especially for the first turn when it is still a little fragile.I will also say the pizza in the listing photo must be a tiny one, my medium-ish 12" pizzas dwarf this turning peel.I will be keeping this for if I eventually buy a large fired pizza oven that has more ceiling height, I think then I would be able to use this more effectively. Right now with my pizza using nearly all the space in the oven this peel is too difficult to use.

I've been trying to turn pizzas using a regular long-handled bbq burger flipper so this pizza peel comes as a nice addition to my kitchen tool toolkit!The metal and attachment points seem to be of good quality and the wooden handle has a smooth polished surface. The head and handle are detachable making it somewhat easier to store. At only 8", it's perhaps a bit smaller than I would prefer but it works well in that I can now reach inside the hot oven from a safe distance to check on the pizza. It will take a little bit of practice to learn how to use it but it's definitely a better option than my former method.

This pizza peel has a long handle (almost oddly long) and a small head (almost oddly small). If those qualities are what you're looking for, or at least ones you can live with, this is a nice quality item at a very fair price. The long handle is detachable for storage -- thankfully! In some ways the small head has become an unexpected blessing, since it limits the size of pies I can make, so I find myself focusing more on the construction of my smaller pies. It's a nice item that's a joy to use, but definitely has a few quirks.
