The Welsh Cake Cookbook (Flavours of Wales)

My grandma made Welsh cakes when we were younger and sadly when she passed her recipe could not be found and my Mom wasn't as interested in baking so she did not have it. When I saw this it sparked an interest in me and had to buy. I haven't made anything yet but there is a picture that looks just like her cakes. There are other interesting recipes as well. Nice purchase!

Tiny little book with a very good welshcake recipe and variations. Lovely pictures. I made the standard recipe and the tinker's cake and both were easy and delicious.

Bought this little book for my Welsh Mom. She's 90 years old and enjoyed seeing all the variations of the little Welsh cakes.

Lovely book

Forty-six pages with ten recipes, 6 3/8" x 6 3/8" in size with metric measurements for ingredients (there is a conversion table on page 46) and unspecified ingredients, e.g. " mixed spice" and pages of one sentence drivel.

I treated myself to this as I have a Welsh heritage and remembered Welsh cakes from my childhood. I’ve tried several of the recipes so far and they are lovely. Very easy and quick to make and a great treat to take round to friends when visiting. They disappear very quickly when served up freshly made and still warm. Nice recipes, cute book - would make a great little gift.
