The reverse function is helpful when something gets stuck, and the feeding tube is wide enough to work comfortably. Bought a second one. It is very good grinder. Not very big. Perfect size with variety of grinder hole size. It is very easy to set up and use. Only wish if the parts were dish washer safe. Accidentally the parts were kept in the dishwasher and all came out black.

Nice grinder. Seems powerful. Won’t use the sausage stuffing attachment. I prefer a manual (crank) sausage stuffer so I can control the speed and plumpness. I ground some semi-frozen beef and it worked pretty well. Fairly powerful. I wish it had a 10mm grinding plate instead of just 7mm. And wish they’d say in the description how big the grinding plate is.

I buy a lot of gadgets for my kitchen and I mean a lot and this is one of my favorites. It was easy to assemble very versatile in what you wanna grind. Looks very high-quality in the kitchen. The only weird odor I had was when I was doing chicken, but chicken has a tendency to have a scent of its own. Grinding speed is variable with amount you put in, you manually apply pressure , but I would caution to make sure the blades are clean and not tightened to tight otherwise you can get black residue on your meat. You need to season the blades and keep them dry once you clean them. Excellent value for the money.

Updated 6/23/2019: I downgraded this to a 1 star rating because the seller did not follow through on the promotion for a "FREE ELECTRIC FOOD CHOPPER" (see attached pic). I emailed my screenshot of the review and the only thing I got in return was an email box full of spam mail from China. Thanks for selling my email address to the highest bidder. I did contact the seller about 2 months later (the spam mailings had began to fade and i figured a follow up with the seller would refresh the deluge to my inbox). I received a sincere apology from "Tony, the Customer Team Leader of ALTRA" and a reassurance that I "will receive it within 3 days". Tony included a copy of the shipping label as proof. Unfortunately for Tony, I am NOT some woman in Naples, Florida. (Maybe she got a FREE item?). I informed Tony that the shipping info he sent as proof was not correct. I received a follow up email with Tony's whole hearted apologies and proof of the correct name and shipping address. I'm thinking to myself at this time - IS THIS REALLY WORTH THE EFFORT ? I let Tony know that I really have no confidence that I'll receive anything other than spam mail from China. I was not let down.. It's 6 weeks later, I have NOT received any FREE item, But the deluge of Chinese spam mail has been rejuvenated. ** Thanks Tony. I told you that I was going to revise my review and contact Amazon if you screwed me over ** At least one of us can keep his word. BTW: I really like the grinder. This is the first grinder I have ever used. I cannot compare it to any other grinder. This is my experience: The product was delivered quickly and in good order. All the parts were included as they are described. I hand washed all the parts prior to use. (Use a baby bottle scrubber to make cleaning the screw mechanism an easy task). The grinder head is easy to disassemble and reassemble. I Recommend putting a few drops of cooking oil on the washer area where the screw attaches to the motor. That will cut down on the metal dust formation. I ran 25 pounds of deer meat through all 3 plates. Then I mixed a 10 pound breakfast sausage batch and ran that through 2 sets of plates. This machine barely got warm during the whole process. It kept up with my feed rate and I never had to use the reverse feature. (Always keep your meat cold for best results). I am looking forward to getting the sausage making accessories from Santa. I'll post an updated review after I'm done making some sausage links. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year

Had high hopes for this device to make ground meat. weak motor and skips chucks of meat or gets stuck on even small pieces of meat mashing it. Very little output. An average blender does better job. Donated this to thrift. it might of worked for making sausage but that's not what I bought this for.

Love this meat grinder but I can't find stuffer tub attachments.

I'm impressed by how well it works. I'm able to grind 5-6 pounds very quickly. I'm happy it includes 3 sizes of grinding discs. This makes it easy to get the grind and texture of burger I desire. Easy to clean too. Hot soapy water and a bottle brush makes quick work of getting clean. The only issue I have is that it body of the grinder heats up quickly and I had to allow it to cool down for about 10 minutes before I felt it was safe to continue. No problems after that.
